I came in for recall service work and other services, and was quoted over 500 dollars to repair a two piece valve stem. They stated on my receipt that I said the sensor was broken, and they said it would be over 500 to put a new one in and program it. The valve stem ending broke and it's an easily replaceable part that isn't attached to the sensor. I know because I see them at my job often enough. Figured it would be an easy fix, but no they wanted over 500 for it. They also didn't fix my steering column problem as requested, or bother to check for the noise after making repairs. I was charged 89 dollars for their "diagnosis" to say they aren't actually sure what it is. They recommended I should replace the coupling and gears inside the steering column and would hopefully be it, so I agreed to have it done after I had already told them what the problem would be. I don't think it's fair to not know what the problem is, and still charge a diagnosis fee for something you never took apart to diagnose. I get that it's work to figure out what the problem is, but they suggested rather than seeing what was wrong. If they were to physically see meshed gears and say "this is the problem," then it would be worth that diagnostic fees, because they're actually doing work to find out what the problem is. So I was charged a diagnosis fee for something I told them was making noise, and they just recommended to replace things they're unsure of instead at my expense. "If it still makes noise, we'll have to replace the whole steering column," is what was said to me before heading out the door. In the parking lot of the dealership, I could easily replicate the noise turning the car on and moving the wheel right away. They didn't bother to check to see if it's still there, and it was easily noticable. It's a problem that can cause steering to fail and should be under recall, as it's a common occurrence from other website forum pages, etc. The people were friendly, the service was average, but I felt like they were just trying to upsell me like any other dealership service. To try and charge me ridiculous prices for services you can get for a fraction of the price or free even is what frustrated me mostly, especially when I purchased this car from them years ago. More
