Issues not resolved. I came into the dealership for regular maintenance and also the ongoing issues of the hatch piston problem and the nonworking hatch sensor. This was my second time for the hatch lift issues. Parts needed to be ordered and I had to come back the next day. After a lengthy wait for my vehicle to be finished I was told all was fixed. Not true. The outside lift sensor did not work consistently at first and then not at all. The service advisor wanted me to leave the car but I did not want a rental. I purchased this RAV4 after being a loyal Lindsay Honda customer for many years. Lindsay offers free shuttle service which Germaine does not. I hope I did not make a mistake. Pending the repairs not resolved and the lack of a shuttle I cannot recommend this service center. More

I called to schedule a service and went over everything with the lady over the phone. She told me the price was $249/$239 (couldn't remember which one) and it was set. Saturday I walked in and waited on Denise, my lady. She was busy with another client so the gentleman to her left checked me in. He was finishing up the paperwork when he asked how much for a 60,000 service and the lady to his left said "$410". He was writing that down when I asked about that price because I was told a price much less over the phone. He did went to another price, $279. After leaving I walked over to where a there was a brochure with the prices listed and it said $239. I asked about the difference and he then dropped my price, taking off some because I was not getting all the service done. Later when I came back to pay it still had the old price on it. I had to, again, bring up the correct price. Thank goodness I kept the note from him saying how much he was going to charge me. This inconsistency is terrible and doesn't build anything other than mistrust. It felt very shady and so nonchalant. Please reach out with any questions or concerns! Amber More

Bad EGR Valve and ball joint I have been going to this dealership as long as I can remember for service and have always been very happy with them. Over a year ago my car started c I have been going to this dealership as long as I can remember for service and have always been very happy with them. Over a year ago my car started consuming oil. At the time, I was told it was not an issue. I pressed the issue because oil doesn’t just disappear, you are either buring it or leaking it. They assured me it was fine. Cut to about a month or so ago, my car began running loud and a yellow triangle with an exclamation point inside it would randomly flash but not stay lit but the car stared running loudly. I tried to check my oil and of course the hood latch was stuck. I made an appointment but in the mean time my father was able to get the hood open. To my shock I had a QUART of oil (very thick black oil) in my car. So clearly the oil issue that “wasn’t an issue” over a year ago has now became a big issue. I put oil in it and took it straight to Germain. At this point, they suggested oil cleaner and an oil consumption test at my expense. I did both of these. They indicated some cars were having this issue and covered under a warranty but my was not. After that service, I went home and began researching. Apparently oil consumption is a common problem among the Prius generation I own. Armed with my newly gained knowledge I called and spoke to the service manager (I can’t remember his name) and he said if the car was rattling when it starts then it is covered under the warranty. This would have been very helpful information earlier in the process since my car was making that noise, if they would have asked if it was doing this I would have saved the cost of the oil cleaner and time because now I had to go back in to start the oil consumption test over and get the EGR valved changed under the correct coding in their computer system. The cost of the new valve and other related parts were now covered at no cost. My car continued to make a ridiculously loud noise. So I assumed it was engine damaged, I took it back. This time I was told the ball joint was going bad (keep in mind it was making that noise the last 2 times it was at their service center-I assumed it was related to the oil issue but I would have thought they might notice this noise and know it wasn’t related but I guess not). 1400 dollars later I have a new ball joint ($700) and other suggested maintenance (another $700) and my car seems to be fixed. I know this sounds like a very negative review but it really isn’t, overall I am happy with the service. I wish they would automatically check all Prius EGR valves of the cars that are in the group having this problem before it is a big issue or at least ask the owners if there is a rattle when they start their car. I get that they don’t want to do a recall and that that decision is up to Toyota and not the dealership but the dealership could help the customers avoid a big headache by checking or asking. Again, in the end I was very satisfied with the service department and happy they worked through this issue with me. Tracy is a saint and did a fabulous job. More
