Engine light on again at only 4,000 miles I have to say I’m disgusted that I have to already come back for servicing on a 2018 Highlander XLE. There’s only 4,000 miles on the car and I have ha I have to say I’m disgusted that I have to already come back for servicing on a 2018 Highlander XLE. There’s only 4,000 miles on the car and I have had it serviced once already. I now have the check engine light on and all wheel drive and cruise control is not working. This is unacceptable. I already wish I had not bought this car. More

For WEEKS before I even hit 4500 mi I was receiving e-mail, v-mail and text reminders to make an appt. I finally came in during the holiday week. The facility is very nice, well-lit, clean and comes with amenities. All very impressive. The staff is super-friendly and courteous but at the end of the day the service was mediocre. I specifically called out that I felt like there was an issue with the brakes being too soft and to please check them. When I received the report back, I found that they only did a visual inspection and there was NO comment regarding the brakes either way. Since I had someone with me and was in a bit of a rush, I couldn't stay longer to discuss this with anyone. They didn't even change my oil on this trip. I know things have changed in new cars and with synthetic oil frequent changes are not required, but I would think for the first service, they would have done it since the engine is new and there could be things that need to be flushed out. Lastly, I had also inquired if I would be able to have a roof rack installed the same day. Answer: yes, if it is in stock. But of course it wasn't. Moreover, it was over-priced. On Toyota's web page they go for $249 ... Glen wanted $299 + installation and could even tell me what they were made of ... the guy at the counter said he thought they were plastic ... REALLY? Why are they marking up the product if they don't even bother to keep it in stock? At that point, I can order it myself. I tell this to every business who asks for a review. Go back to basics. Be good at what you are supposed to be doing ... forget the fluff and stop cheapening everything just to increase your bottom line. The biggest failure on the part of businesses today is that they make poor decisions and think the customers don't notice. Then when their business falls off, they blame the economy and use excuses like 'people just don't do xxx anymore' or 'people don't have the money like they used to' ... no, people have stopped coming to you because you don't offer the same quality products and/or service like you USED to.
