Intimidation, lies, and legal issues galore Golf Mill Ford has not only lost my patronage, but the patronage of my friends, family, and any future car buyer I come into contact with. As a first Golf Mill Ford has not only lost my patronage, but the patronage of my friends, family, and any future car buyer I come into contact with. As a first time buyer I have been made aware of multiple scams and tricks dealerships will use to take advantage of an inexperienced buyer, but even with this foresight I could not have expected that Golf Mill Ford would willingly lie directly to my face and conduct business in a (if not already illegal) shady way. This post is edited for brevity and does not reflect the stress and anguish of this ongoing 20+ day conflict. I came into Golf Mill Ford with the goal of finding a car that I could purchase within my price range. After some looking I had my eye on an ‘09 Honda Accord and began to negotiate with salesperson Oday Omar. After nearly two hours of waiting (after my card was processed for a down payment without any official paperwork being shown to me) I was brought to the office of finance manager Avanes David. Without being greeted or being told anything and STILL not seeing any official paperwork I was immediately put on the phone, very confused as to who I was speaking with and why. When asked what the call was for the person on the other end had stated that the dealership I was buying a car for was setting me up with an insurance company (out of my pocket) so that I could drive the car off the lot that day. I promptly explained I had not even agreed to purchase a car that day and hung the phone up, when Mr. David finally spoke with me. After another hour or so we came to an agreement and I was finally shown a contract with final numbers. It is worth noting I was financing the vehicle and therefore the APR was listed in the contract which will be important next. The car I drove off the lot was not even street legal as it had a flat tire, inoperative brake light, and less importantly various scratches. In the contract they agreed to have the car touched up, and when that appointment was completed I noticed the color paint did not match the car, the scratches were not fully covered or done well at all, and in some places the car was completely untouched/had more scratches over the hood than when it was brought in. As I went to speak with Mr. David about this he sprung onto me that my original contracts APR was denied and I would need to sign a new contract with a higher APR a full 18 days after I drove the car off the lot for the first time. I questioned him about our previous contract and he said it was within their rights to change the contract’s APR within a certain grace period (which is correct and legal) however if I refuse to sign I would need to return the car. I was fully prepared to return the vehicle in exchange for my down payment but when I said I wanted to do so they had me speak with a larger, intimating finance manager named Chris Grigsby that refused to take my car back and said verbatim “you already agreed to buy a car from us last time you came in and signed, so now you have two options for this new contract: you sign or you sign.” When he received the answer that I knew that was illegal and he had an obligation to take the car back if I did not agree to the higher APR he told me to “beat it” and so I left. After this incident I opened a case with the Attorney General and attached a detailed incident report and received a call from Golf Mill Ford shortly after with a different finance manager. He apologized for the incident and offered me a better deal, but at that point I deemed the best thing for me was to discontinue all current and future business with them. I told the gentleman that I would be in touch. After another day Mr. Grigsby gave me a call explaining that he wanted me to come in and we could “put this whole thing behind us and just make it easy.” I complied and came into the dealership with my brother as support and we told Mr. Grigsby that we had no interest in the new deal and that the car would be returned for a full refund of my down payment. Again, Mr. Grigsby attempted to intimidate and told us that since I had the car for 3 weeks at that point they would need to charge me $500 for a “restocking fee” as well as the miles I had driven on the vehicle during that time. When we refused and asked him to show us in writing where it said they were legally allowed to do so Mr. Grigsby asked us to follow him outside of his office at which point he involved another gentleman that attempted to take the keys from us and leave us empty handed, so I left the dealership and am now in the process of hiring a lawyer as that is the only way anyone can win against Golf Mill Ford. UPDATE: After contacting the OWNER of Golf Mill Ford I was finally able to receive my full money back as they took the car with no hassle this time (on the phone he mentioned he read what I had wrote), literally in and out in 5 minutes. The fact that it had to come to this to get the service we deserved after they tried to initially take advantage of me is outrageous. I thank the owner for his prompt help but condemn the rest of his staff for the actions I wrote about above. As the response to my review states, I WAS happy with the car when I signed our first contract, but after the experience I had with them I wanted absolutely nothing to do with them (not to mention their "touch up" job that needed to be redone). They gave me worse than mediocre service, and even if they made it up after 3 visits it shows zero proof that I could expect different service for the rest of my time with them, only that if you push hard enough they will budge. Why would anyone take a better deal after being lied to and strong-armed into signing a contract? And this over a used car from '09. Save yourself the hassle folks, if Golf Mill Ford has money to lose they will surely fight tooth and nail to delay it for as long as possible or until you give up. More

I think most of the employees from the very top all the way down may be related if I had to guess so you won't get anywhere with management. You will get a lot of smiles and politeness while you are getting it in the back. After you sign you are not getting any of those promises PERIOD. And if you ask why not all the smiles go away and you are ignored. JUST AMAZING to watch this process applied to customer after customer on YELP. The sales manager and the salesmen will promise you the world while jotting down all the promises in front of you. You will never get any of those notes by the way. Then the scam happens in the finance room. Before you sign anything make sure all those promises are in writing . Interest rate, cents per mile for lease etc, etc. They are masters at bait and switch and all in on together. The salesman and sales manager told me .15cents per mile after 10.5k miles per year. Then we asked the finance guy Pasula also just to make sure. He said .15 cents also. When I got home after dealing with them until 9:30 pm. I noticed the paperwork had .20 cents per mile. I called the next morning and got the run around. The general manager said the finance guy told us .20 cents . COMMON SENSE tells you if it was important enough for me to ask the salesman & floor manager Dominik about the 15 cents. Why wouldn't I have called them to the finance room to explain the contradiction before signing. The finance guy was shuffling papers like a card player when we asked him about the .15cents per mile. Better yet find another dealer. The saddest part is the general manager will never side with you and accuses you of lying. They make a lot of promises to control you until they have you right where they want you. Then the STING. More

I told her I had credit problems and wasn't sure if I would qualify for credit but she said she'd work that out and not to worry. She assured me I would be driving home that day with a car that I liked. She proceeded to dive right in working not only on a car but financing and insurance as well. When she did find a quality used vehicle for me I offered to complete the sale and come back Tuesday to pick up the car. Bebe wouldn't hear of it instead she reiterated that she would stay as long as necessary to make sure I left in my car that night. Her hard work, customer service and dedication to keeping her promise all combined to make this the best car buying experience I've ever had. she has made me a customer for life and will happily recommend her when ever possible. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am with my purchase and I owe it all to Bebe. When you go to Golf Mill Ford make sure you ask for her. You won't be disappointed!!! Thanks again Bebe!!! More
