I am filing this complaint regarding a vehicle I purchased from Great Chicago Motors for approximately $30,000. Before the sale, the dealership sent videos and represented the vehicle as being in purchased from Great Chicago Motors for approximately $30,000. Before the sale, the dealership sent videos and represented the vehicle as being in excellent condition. After delivery, a full inspection by an authorized dealer revealed extensive defects that could not reasonably have been unknown to the seller. The vehicle had significant oil leaks, four unusable tires requiring immediate replacement, a failing battery, improper and deteriorated fluids, a missing wiper component, a torn headliner, severe sun damage, sticky interior buttons and trim, extensive interior damage that appears to have been painted over to disguise its condition, evidence of repainting and body work on multiple panels despite a clean vehicle history report, and a failed suspension component. The estimated repair cost is already approaching $20,000. This is not a complaint about normal wear and tear. The vehicle was represented as being in excellent condition while suffering from major defects that were obvious upon inspection and should have been disclosed before the sale. Had the true condition of the vehicle been disclosed, I would not have purchased it at the agreed price, if at all. More
