My wife and I had been driving around Denver for 4 LOOOONG weekends looking for the right truck. We would walk in to a dealership and get the run around on our trade or the vehicle price and walk out LOOOONG weekends looking for the right truck. So on 06/17/2011, I called Groove Ford after seeing a nice Honda Ridgeline and offered them a cash sale and we agreed on a price on the terms that it was in good working order. This was nice being my wife and I would be traveling 200+ miles to look at this vehicle. When we arrived at the dealership, we asked for Phil Vaillancourt and he was at our service. He had the vehicle ready for us to look at and even had some knowledge of the vehicles history and previous owner. We jumped in the truck and took it for a drive. The only downfall to our visit, if you want to call it that, was at the point we tried the 4x4 option on the truck and couldn’t get it to work. So Phil went and got their head mechanic and he took the truck for a couple of minutes. When he came back, he “showed us” how the VTM-4 option worked on the Honda Ridgeline. He explained that you had to turn off the VSA (traction control), put it in reverse, hit the VTM-4 button and then put it in drive and go. This isn’t anything close to what you have to do to put this all-wheel drive truck in to full time 4x4 mode. You can only use the VTM-4 option in D1 or D2 as it will not function in D3 or D4. My wife and I had to watch a video on YouTube to figure this out as there was no owner’s manual with the truck. Regardless of this small issue, we bought the truck. Going through the paperwork was painless and they even threw in a full tank of gas and a really nice Cutter & Buck golf shirt with a Groove Ford logo on it. If Groove Ford has a vehicle that my wife and I are interested in the next time we are looking , they will be our FIRST choice as a dealer we trust won’t give us the run around. They had polished the rims, touched up some paint, changed the oil and detailed the interior. The big plus was over our contract. There was one thing added to the contract that we had verbally declined, but we were charged for it. When I discussed this with Todd he sent us a check for the amount in question. Wow, very nice. I have bought many vehicles in my lifetime, Groove made the whole experience alot of fun. The finance manager was great and my financing time was less than an hour. Groove was unlike most other dealerships I have went to. The sales folks were friendly and fine with you just looking around. I never felt rushed or the expectation that I had to buy. When it came time to purchase they gave us all the time we needed to think it over and things were explained clearly. Lonnie was very helpful and polite, he got me in and out in a timely manner and my problem is solved. Not only did he fix my problem but he even washed my car.
