I have a 2006 Prius with 125,000 miles. My wife and I took a trip to the Rose Parade for a week. We left the car in a parking lot at the airport. It sat for a week in the snow/ice/rain and freezing cold. When we picked it up it was running and waiting for us. As we were driving home, within 2 miles from our home, the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. My wife quickly reached into the glove box and flipped through the manuel to see what all these lights meant. They meant that the regeneration battery was malfunctioning and we should pull off the road at the nearest safe spot and immediately call the Toyota Dealer. I was within two miles of my home so I continued to drive home. The next morning I was ready to call AAA to have the car towed to Hoffman Toyota on Rt. 44 in Avon because it is near my house. My wife asked me to try to start the car before I called. I tried and it started instantly. I drove to Hoffman and explained that I was getting all the signals that I needed a new "regeneration battery". They needed to keep it for a day to diagnose the problem. $103 later I picked up the car and was told that I needed a new "regeneration battery". No comment needed to understand my anger over being told what I alread knew for a cost of $103. I was told that this new battery was $3000 and they would have to order it because these batteries almost NEAVER break so they don't stock them. I was also told that there was no warrantee because I had over 100,000 miles. I was also told that I had to have this done fast because although they cleared most of the codes (there was still one warning light on the dash) if this happened again I could find myself "dead in the water". In other words I would be stranded by the side of the road at the most inconvenient time and location. The next morning I wanted to go Hartford Toyota to get a second opinion. I started the car and there were NO warning lights. I drove the Hartford Toyont with no problem. The first thing they did was put my VIN number into the computer and told me that I needed a new electric water pump which was a factory recall. I told them the whole story and they said that it could be that the battery simply needed operating after being out in the elements for a week although it certainly should not have happened. I was told to keep driving it until something did happen. 3000 miles later it happened again. I drove immediately to Hartford Toyota. They checked the codes and immediately told me that I would need a new battery. It would have to be ordered from Boston because they don't stock them since this was only the second battery they had to replace since 2003 when the car first came out. They told me to sit in the waiting room while they checked on the warrantee andavailablilty of the battery. In 15 minutes they came out to tell me that the battery was available and it would be a couple of days and they could install it. They also told me that IT WAS UNDER WARRANTEE BECAUSE THE WARRANTEE WAS FOR 150,000 miles and I only had 128,000 miles on the car. Not only that but the warrantee would cover the cost of a loaner while my car was being repaired. They then told me continue driving the car until the factory authorized the repair and the new battery came in. I asked how I could drive it since I was told that I would be stranded by the side of the road? They asked where I heard that nonsence. I told them Hoffman Toyota. They rolled their eyes and didn't say a word. I was told by the service people at Hartford Toyota that when the regeneration battery dies you simply keep driving as a normal car would. In other words you simply use the regular gas engine so you don't get the benefit of the extra milage that the regenereation battery would allow you to receive. However, you would absolutely would not be stranded. Sure enough I drove my own car for several days while the central factory in California authorized the repair. The repair was done perfectly, a beautiful new Camery was loaned to me and there was not ONE PENNY OF COST TO ME. I found EVERY person in their dealership to be EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. Corey Jones was the Service Advisor, Bill Olson, Douglas Beaulieu were the supervisors and service managers. My wife bought an Avalon from them and the young salesman and his sales managers were outstanding. I cannot tell you enough what a wonderful feeling of goodwill they gave me. It is a pleasure doiing business with them. The next morning I drove to Hartford Toyota in the North Meadows of Hartford to get a second opinion. By this time ALL the code lights were off and the car was running perfectly. More

Chip Benyi had handled the maintenance on my Toyotas since 2002, since 2007 with Hartford Toyota. His experience, knowledge base and customer service takes away all the concerns normally associated with since 2002, since 2007 with Hartford Toyota. His experience, knowledge base and customer service takes away all the concerns normally associated with a "service call". Chip manages with total professionalism starting with the identification of the jobs to be completed, and then follows to insure that the work gets done right the first time. Frequently included is the multi-point inspection that in my opinion proactively identifies immediate and future concerns for consideration and action. I strongly recommend Chip and Hartford Toyota Service to all Toyota owners. More

I followed him from Avon an comment on how absolutely fabulous the assistant service manager, CHIP BENYI is. He is an asset to the world of Toyota. I followed him from Avon and I will continue to follow him. He is the total package and should be commended for all of his customer service and hard work representing Toyota and the service department. I feel completely comfortable leaving my car for service and know that I will receive the best service possible. It is the reason why I have had three Toyotas and will continue to buy Toyota......as long as Chip Benyi is part of it. This is why I gave all 5's on my review. More
BEWARE OF THE UNETHICAL PRACTICES AT THIS DEALERSHIP!!! I purchased my vehicle from this dealership and had all service work performed here. After a routine oil change , I was told that about $5,900.00 wo I purchased my vehicle from this dealership and had all service work performed here. After a routine oil change , I was told that about $5,900.00 worth of work was required and that I should consider it time to purchase a new vehicle. Immediately after this conversation, the sales person who originally sold me the vehicle years prior miraculously appeared, mentioned my name and reminded me that he was the person who had sold me my vehicle. What a convenient coincidence. I took my vehicle to a reputable local mechanic. He checked the vehicle front to back. Not only did the vehicle not require the work quoted by Hartford Toyota, but we discovered that many of the parts that were supposedly replaced at previous services had actually never been done. I work in a well established service business myself. Hartford Toyota lost me as a loyal customer and I will be sure to let everyone I know to steer clear of this place! More
