We understand the frustration of any customer with a situation like this. In the end the problem was remedied to the customer’s satisfaction. A review of this case helps put this incident into perspective. The vehicle had the recommended re-application of the exterior protection. Typically a customer can re-apply it themselves but we offer it as a service during a planned visit. The cleaning of the surfaces and application only takes a short time. The five minutes time is typical. It is not a complete detail which takes considerably longer. When one expects they are getting a detail and they think it was done in 5 minutes, then we can understand the complaint. The need to reschedule was to provide adequate time to correct the problem. During the discovery of the cause, the questions asked of the customer were reasonable. In as much as we don’t have a body and paint shop at the dealership, the reason was not obvious. After a full investigation it was found that an outside vendor that does touch up painting had created over spray that landed on the customers’ car. Although the problem was caused by another party, this was our customer and it was our responsibility to fix it. For the future we are requiring that vendors take all precautions to prevent similar incidents. One only has to read our other reviews to see that courtesy and friendliness are of prime importance to us.
