I have always been adverse to dealerships, on account to the "show" that takes place. Hendrick did not let me down, in keeping with the traditional antics that take have always held true. I had a trade in and the title was in my elderly father's name, who offered the vehicle as a trade in for his granddaughter. The financing attendant wanted him to come in the next day to sign. I asked if they would be available on Sunday (the day they were proposing)? The finance person was insistent and said they would have paperwork. My elderly father came by after church to find they had no paperwork for him. The finance person called me Monday asking him to come back in. I told him he would not, he had no ride, and they would have to send someone to him. The finance person blamed his co worker, and the co worker told my father that they gave him no paper work. I have no respect for someone not taking responsibility. We did find the staff very friendly (save the finance department) we paid cash and they still pushed all the extra costs. The car we choose needed repair that took over two months. I called to check up, insuring the salesman I'm not being pushy and want a complete job. The salesman called me to tell me it was being cleaned and ready for pick up that evening or in the morning. To be safe I choose the morning. I wanted to surprise my daughter by picking it up in the morning on her way to work (10:00 am). I called ahead as requested by the manager who had called me and assured it was ready. I was expecting the car at the curb, cleaned and ready to go, with happy sales people ready to take pride in the hand off. The car was not ready and they gave me the "ready in five minutes" for about 40 minutes, which made my daughter late for work. They refused to give me back the rental I came in with, and rushed giving us the car. I let them know that under promising, and over providing would have been best. We got home and the car was not clean on the inside. Vomit or food between seats, spoiled milk. I popped the hood and there was layers of dust. I was afraid to return it to have it cleaned, of fear of more wasted time. More than once the salesperson and his manager told me "Mr. Hendrick doesn't just put his name on any vehicle, he has a standard that he expects". I have news for you Mr. Hendrick, your standard is keeping with the tradition of every car dealership I have dealt with in my 48 years of life; demanding, not taking responsibility, wasting peoples time trying to wear them down, to provide sub par workmanship, that only reminds people to stay away. We do love the car though, that is a credit to Toyota not this dealer. More
