We were looking for a Certified Pre-Owned 2008 Pilot and were referred to Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington by Scott Birtles, the GM of Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk. Since we were travelling from Frankli were referred to Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington by Scott Birtles, the GM of Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk. Since we were travelling from Franklin, we called the dealership from the road first thing in the morning to make sure that the car was still in inventory. Sonny, a dealership manager, assured us that the car was there and arranged to have it washed for our arrival. When we got to the dealership, he put us in the more than capable hands of Laurie Cantwell. Laurie, who was friendly and professional, explained the Pilot pricing clearly and gave us all the time we needed to make a decision. When we decided to make the purchase, she gave us a fair trade-in on our 2003 van. At no time did we feel pressured or rushed. Overall, we had a very positive experience. When I was looking for a new Honda Accord last November (2010) I shopped around at many dealers in the area, including Herb Chambers of Burlington because of the excellent maintenance and customer service they provided for my 12 year old Accord (which they still had running just fine when I decided to get a new car). Across the various dealerships there were several very good sales reps who took the time to listen to me and to do their best to offer me the relatively rare car that I wanted (2011 Accord EX with *manual* transmission). Of the best sales reps, Laurie Cantwell stood out. Take the very best sales reps around, then within that group select the best of the best and there you will find Laurie. Some of the other very good reps were assertive (not aggressive) in their salesmanship. Having been in sales myself I respect that. But my experience with Laurie was different. In working with her I felt as though I was consulting with a good friend and never once was made to feel that she was trying to sell me something. On top of that she gave me the best price of all the dealerships, and the best trade-in value, and clearly explained how everything factored into the price and financing. Disappointed, I was on my way home when I saw Herb Chambers in Burlington. I thought, "what can it hurt" and decided to stop and take a look at what they had. I'm so glad that I did! After walking in I was immediately introduced to Robert (Rob) Kinneen who was extremely warm and friendly and listened very intently. I explained to him that I had recently gotten in an accident with my old hand-me-down and needed to buy a new car. After I explained what I was looking for, he walked me over to a beautiful 2005 Honda civic that had the exact price, styling and color that I was looking for! Not to mention low mileage and a clean carfax! I was sold even before the test drive! I had never bought a car before so I was pretty confused (and intimidated) about the whole process; Rob took it upon himself to make sure to explain everything to me and made himself available anytime I had questions. He even gave me his cell phone and came in on his days off. Ironically, my hand-me-down car died while I was waiting for the new Honda. I called Rob and he set me up with a FREE rental-car the next day! It wasn't a cheap car either, it was a brand new 2011 Chevy Cruise with 400 miles! So while I was riding in style, Rob was taking care of all the paperwork for the title, inspection and registration. They even washed and waxed the car! All I had to do was enjoy the rental and come in when everything was done. When I came in to pick up the car, Rob greeted me warmly and handed me the key. There was nothing else to sign, no more loops to jump through, all I had to do was start the engine. I was about to drive off when Rob stopped me and said "Just one more thing", he hopped in and told me to drive to the local gas station. He filled it up to the brim for no charge! My first experience buying a car could have been a nightmare, but it turned out to be a complete joy! Solely thanks to the work of Rob and the staff at Herb Chambers. Rob went above and beyond the call of duty. Between him, the great car and wonderful staff, Herb Chambers is nothing short of a great dealership. I still can't believe I found them by accident! More
