Strongly prefer Heritage Hyundai Towson After a fairly poor experience with Heritage in Bel Air, my husband and I traded our used car for a new Hyundai at Heritage Hyundai Towson. We had a MUCH better experience in Towson and are pleased with our new car. Staff was very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. The overall purchase experience was smooth and easy. I'd recommend the Towson dealership (not Bel Air) and would buy there again. Thank you especially to Stan and Scott!! More
We were very pleased with the friendliness, knowledge, and amount of time Jim spent with us while searching for our new car. He didn't rush us and he made us feel at ease. and amount of time Jim spent with us while searching for our new car. He didn't rush us and he made us feel at ease. More
Honestly, up until two weeks ago I despised Mazda all-together. My wife had a mazda 3 and I was too tall for it (I'm 6'3). I had a BMW that I recently traded for something more economical with my new all-together. My wife had a mazda 3 and I was too tall for it (I'm 6'3). I had a BMW that I recently traded for something more economical with my new 82 mile, one-way commute to work. With the snow pouring down on us, and my wife being from Bel Air (and a huge Mazda fan), we went to Heritage Mazda. She knew what she wanted but she insisted I test drove the CX-5 she had picked out in the hopes I wouldn't hate it. She was right. I could comfortably fit in the front and the back, the layout had changed, the controls made sense and they had great reliability ratings. While she was there I couldnt get over how nice the Mazda 6 looked but most importantly I couldnt get over the fact that they offered the Mazda 6 in a manual. It was good to see a car manufacturer realize that not everyone only wants a manual in the baseline model for price. Some of us enjoy driving a manual. My wife made the purchase and we drove home with a CX-5 two weeks ago. Yesterday, after some thinking, I decided to go back and check out the Mazda 6 touring in manual they had at the dealership. It was the right color, right trim level and the right price. I'm normally a difficult person to sell a car to... To the point that about 75% of my car purchases have been private party purchases or used car so I dont have to deal with a dealership much. I've had way too many bad experiences that usually start with the finance manager. I generally can see through most "smoke and mirror" or high pressure tactics. They boil my blood. At other dealerships I have been told that a calculator is wrong or "broken", that I couldnt drive away with a car for 3 weeks if I didnt finance through a certain company, or that an extra $50 a month in my payment was "peanuts" and I was a fool for worrying about it. Not here. I had been in contact with John Holliday during my wife's purchase and after. When I came in to make the purchase he handed me over to the salesman Dave who was probably the most relaxed person I have dealt with. There was ZERO pressure. He asked me what I wanted to know, I asked specific pointed questions about the vehicle and what was included and he only gave me what I wanted to know specifically without spin, twist, or unnecessary information. I asked what colors they had available, he responded with "We have Silver and Reflex Blue here, and we can easily get Red today as well". No question dodging either. He warmed up the car, did some paperwork and we went on a test drive. He gave me the pro's and cons of the model I wanted vs other models he had when I asked. After we get back, we agreed to the numbers (price), and it was within my range of where I wanted to be and the paperwork began. I'm always apprehensive about the finance office and would actually pay to skip it usually, but this was smooth. My rate was in a range I wanted, within the length I wanted, and the payment range I estimated. When I was finished, I explained to Dale that I was in a bit of a rush at this point and I didnt need the full walk through of the car, since my wife had just bought a CX-5, so he stepped outside and had the car warm, detailed and ready. He helped me move my stuff from my old car to my new car, we shook hands and were off. The summary of it... No pressure, No BS, and straight forward pricing that I found to be the lowest Mazda pricing around. I had the feeling that at any point I could have said "alright, now let me go home and sleep on it" and there wouldnt have been too much of an issue with that. Good people and I would definitely put them on the list of place I will buy from again. Right now they're the only place on that list, FYI More
Do not believe any advertised prices on the internet. I saw many advertisements for 2014 Mazda 3 Hatchbacks on cars.com. I immediately called to see if they have them available to look at it tomorrow. He w saw many advertisements for 2014 Mazda 3 Hatchbacks on cars.com. I immediately called to see if they have them available to look at it tomorrow. He wasn't sure about any price on the phone. After couple minutes I receive an email saying car is around $3000 more than the advertised price. This is an utter Bait-&-Switch. 'Not all customers qualify for all rebates and incentive'. Just shop somewhere else. More
I spent some time thinking about how to review my experience at Heritage Mazda Bel Air. It is two fold, so I will start w the positive. Sales Rep Dale is awesome. I trusted him, and he never disappoi experience at Heritage Mazda Bel Air. It is two fold, so I will start w the positive. Sales Rep Dale is awesome. I trusted him, and he never disappointed. However, that's where the positive ends. I bought a USED Mazda CX-7. My wife had nothing but issues. It labored to start every time you cranked the engine. But more importantly, it would NOT start, at all, when it was below ¼ tank. The computer would tell you there was 60 miles to empty. But, it wouldn't start. My wife was stranded in a parking garage downtown at Johns Hopkins, the first time. The GM (James) agreed to take back the vehicle, as I promised to purchase a new 2014 Mazda CX-5. Long story short, I lost nearly $2k on this deal. This dealership would not give me my money back after three weeks, and three breakdowns, even though I was purchasing a brand new 2014 vehicle from them. They were willing to hold me hostage to the “lemon vehicle” or purchase a new one. I paid $16k + tax, title, & processing fee. They only gave me $15k for the “lemon vehicle”. They said they sold the new one at their cost, however, discussions later said they may possibly make $500 on it back from “volume”. When my wife was stranded, they did send their Sales Rep to help her. But, I fought tooth and nail to get all of my money back, with no avail. This dealership is only in it for the $$$$. They will help you only when it is $$$$ for them. They made $$$$ on my original purchase, and I'm 100% sure they will make $$$$ on that “Lemon vehicle” when they resell it. Plus, they will make $$$ on the new purchase. I don't believe for a second it was at cost, or without some stipend. The patronizing, and USED car salesman tactics were awful. I bought this new vehicle because I had no choice. Luckily for me, my wife is happy w the vehicle. What turned out to be an economical purchase, is now costing me $100 more per month, and not mu fault. I'm disgusted at the situation, and will never buy from them again. They won't receive service from me, either. Be careful buying a USED vehicle. There is a lemon there, and it also has no second key. (They wouldn't give me one) More
I live in Delaware and purchased a used Mazda 3 from Heritage. It took over 3 hours to complete the purchase of the car which was quite long considering I went with only one car in mind. Never discussed Heritage. It took over 3 hours to complete the purchase of the car which was quite long considering I went with only one car in mind. Never discussed another car. After lengthy negotiations I bought the car. After the purchase was complete they told me the car only came with one set of keys and that I would need to purchase another set. I was also told they would handle all title work to covert to Delaware tags and to expect receipt of the new tags in the mail. I just received a call from the dealership stating it was my responsibility to go to the DMV and obtain the Vin transfer to obtain the new tags. I now have 2 weeks left to go to the DMV and process the paperwork to get the Delaware tags before my temporary tags expire. Guaranteed I will not obtain in time. Make sure you cover every little detail when purchasing used kbecause they will look for additional opportunities to obtain more money from you after the sale is complete. More
Recently purchased a CX-5. I am not very happy with my sales experience. I shopped on my own, not the best idea, but Heritage used fairly high pressure sales tactics. They did let me take the car out on m sales experience. I shopped on my own, not the best idea, but Heritage used fairly high pressure sales tactics. They did let me take the car out on my own for the afternoon. That was nice, but they more or less lied about the functions of the navigation system, while I know the dealership doesn't make the navigation, it really is pretty poor compared to the competition. This goes for the current 3, 6, and CX-5, probably the CX-9 as well. The navigation, while will get you to your destination, does not label surrounding roads and zooming in and out doesn't help. So if you want to say find your way out of a neighborhood to get to the main road, as a map, the GPS is useless. Traffic feature of Nav routinely disables itself, with a reset needed by pulling the SD card. The dealer has no fix for this. iPod USB interface is also horrible, takes 5 minutes to load up the songs every time you connect, start the car, or switch sources, then it will always reset to the first song! The other times that it does work, it may just play ear piercing static. The Heritage showroom is old and out of date, and while not integral to the car buy experience, it would be nice if it was modern looking. Also the only way to the service counter is through the showroom. Sneaky, I see what you did there. If you plan to get any work done under warranty, it is like pulling teeth to get a loaner and the shuttle only takes you 5 miles. So if you work in around Aberdeen, I totally suggest looking at the Mazda dealership in Aberdeen. Also Heritage only provides 1 oil change when you purchase the car. Most of the competition in the area provides oil changes for a longer period of time (they say lifetime, but I haven't investigated). Maybe it is Mazda, but the room to negotiate is pretty limited. They try to push you into financing, even if you don't need it, but don't offer any incentives or bonuses of financing. I know the dealership makes money when financing, so why not give back a little something to the customer? The most you will get on a current car is close to invoice. While that may not sound bad, do some comparison shopping as you will probably find competitors will have more discounts, dropping you below invoice, especially if you finance. The salespeople seem friendly enough, but if you go in, make sure you get an internet quote first and are comfortable with what you will be paying. Personally I will not be shopping at Heritage again and I am recommending to my colleagues, friend and family to also not shop at Heritage. More
I'm taking the time to write this review for both Ken Arment and John Holliday. I didn't end up purchasing a vehicle from their location but both of them went well out of their way to offer me excellent Arment and John Holliday. I didn't end up purchasing a vehicle from their location but both of them went well out of their way to offer me excellent customer service. Ken even offered to deliver my vehicle to a location of my choosing..wow talk about going the extra mile. Basically what I am saying is that if you choose to purchase a new vehicle from either of them, I have the utmost believe that they will treat you right. The fact that I am writing this review goes to show you how impressed I was with both of them. More
My experience with the Heritage Mazda of Bel Air dealership was superb. Larry and all the team members at Heritage were fantastic. I had a lot of fears going into the dealership and was very anxious. However, Larry and his team made me feel at ease immediately. Also fantastic. I had a lot of fears going into the dealership and was very anxious. However, Larry and his team made me feel at ease immediately. Also, I described my needs to Larry and was amazed that the very first car I test drove was exactly what I was looking for and fit my needs perfectly. When I drove out of the lot in my new car I really felt I had made the right decision. More
