We went looking for a replacement for my wife's 2007 ES350 which was purchased at another dealer (out of state). Met with Don, the Internet manager. We looked over the new ES350 and decided that there just not enough changes to warrant purchasing a new one. My wife spotted the new HS250H Hybrid on the showroom floor. Don took us out in his car and was very knowledgeable. He challenged my wife to try the Lexus Assist "dude". Her challenge - find the nearest Dairy Queen. It was great. We worked the deal with Don and picked up the car a few days later. Even the financial person was courtious and applied no pressure to buy add-ons. My wife is a very tough negotiator and Don and the team at Hoffman had to work hard to get the deal. I did a short stint as a car salesman and I know when "tactics" are used. None here. More
Worst bunch of thieves I've ever met. Made a deal for a used GX 470. Told the salesman I would be down to test drive it and if everything was ok would buy it. Had agreed upon a price. Salesman tells me that day that he is on vacation and to see his boss. I got there and the manager knew nothing about the deal and had sold the vehicle the day before. Salesman emailed me when he got back and asked why I hadn't stopped by. I told him the story and he blamed the manager, Kevin Wannier, for being an idiot (first honest statement so far). He found me another vehicle. I went down, put a deposit on it, signed all the paperwork. Got a call the morning I was supposed to pick it up and was told that they sold me a vehicle that was already sold to someone else. I found out it wasn't true. Got my money back and will never do business with them again. p.s. bought from Herb Chambers Lexus in Sharon MA. Best experience ever. Bought another one for my wife and recommended to 2 other people who bought RX's from Chambers. If Hoffman was honest they could have had 4 sales instead of none (one from CT whom I talked out of going to Hoffman). More
After a lengthy negotiation, we came to an agreement on Thursday night. The agreement was contingent upon taking an RX350 that was in stock and putting down a deposit/taking delivery within 24 hours. I called the salesman at 8:15 the next morning to arrange a time to finalize the deal and take delivery. At 2 PM that afternoon, I was signing over the title to my trade-in when the salesman (very apologetically) said his manager would not allow him to sell the vehicle at the agreed-to price and Hoffman would have to get additional money from me. This is no way to do business. I took delivery of my Lexus on Monday from McDermott Lexus at a fair price from fair people. More
