Before going "shopping" Angela told me she was afraid to talk to the salesman for fear of getting a bad deal and asked if I would negotiate the deal Solemnly promising to be quiet unless I felt it necessary she speak. I reluctantly agreed, put on my best "I'm a butthead face " complete with attitude and off we went to the dealership. We went to the dealership, found my wife her dream ride and met for the very first time our salesman Steve Morris. Mr. Morris introduced himself And before I could say anything he ( Morris) did the smartest thing a man in sales could do. He ignored me completely and concentrated his full attention on my wife. It was wonderful the way he made Angela feel at ease and even at times empowered with the situation. He was very skillful in using the personal approach by finding common ground topics to make my wife comfortable and gain trust. My negotiation skills were now reduced to three phrases.. yes dear, if that's what you want, and, if it makes you happy. Do I think I could have gotten a better deal on trade in and payments? Maybe but Steve Morris made this such an impact on making this experience positive and pleasant it was worth any extra expense to see Angela smile happily as she ( not me ) negotiated for her new car. Mr.Morris also took time to show Angela all the "bells and whistles" of her new car. Well played sir, Great job! Oh yeah, the popcorn was pretty good too. More
