I traveled from Atlanta, GA to purchase a Certified Preowned Honda Odyssey from Honda of Columbia (HoC) that I initially found on the internet. From my first contact with HoC, I was impressed with the Preowned Honda Odyssey from Honda of Columbia (HoC) that I initially found on the internet. From my first contact with HoC, I was impressed with their quick, accurate, and detailed responses to all of my questions. Wheeler Jones, my salesman, did an excellent job of describing the vehicle, sending extra photos, performing a 'smell test', and voluntarily disclosing a few nicks/dings on the vehicle that I missed in the photos. Price negotiations went smoothly and I decided to fly from ATL to Columbia to test drive and purchase the vehicle. Wheeler Jones met me at the airport and drove me to the dealership where I found the Odyssey EXACTLY as advertised with no surprises. Wheeler interfaced with multiple departments at the dealership to satisfy my requests. Specifically, he arranged for the service shop to provide me with printed invoices of all past service visits of the vehicle. Wheeler's customer service was top notch and I couldn't have asked for a better salesman. To execute the purchase and secure financing, I sat down with Steven Chandler (Business Manager). I was disappointed with how strongly and repetitively he pushed various extended warranties and GAP insurance coverage. After literally saying "No" 10 or more times (with increasing fervency) to repeated offers and guilt-trips, he finally gave up and completed the paperwork as originally negotiated. I also had to remind him multiple times to include in writing the final rebate owed to me (~$1,500) that was negotiated through e-mail previously. However, overall, it was good experience at HoC and I'm extremely satisfied with my Odyssey and the price I paid for it. I would definitely buy from Honda of Columbia again and strongly recommend Wheeler Jones as your salesman. More

I used this website to help me rate dealerships, so I thought it's only fair to post a review of my recent new car buying experience. After considerable research into what kind of car I wanted and then thought it's only fair to post a review of my recent new car buying experience. After considerable research into what kind of car I wanted and then taking a test drive at a different local dealership, I decided to purchase a Honda Fit. I already had in mind what a fair price would be both for the new car, and for trading in my current car. Rather than driving to dealerships around SC, NC, and GA, I decided to email nine different dealerships asking for detailed quotes. Only BA Rivera gave me the complete information I needed, and he did so very quickly, with no tricks. About half the other dealerships never got back to me, and the others contacted me trying to get me to come into their salesroom and to take (another) test drive, despite the fact that I knew exactly what I wanted already. BA (Braulio) gave me an excellent price on the car, and was friendly, candid, responsive, no-pressure, and extremely professional all around. The only slight hitch in my experience with Honda of Columbia came when the sales manager tried to get me to purchase the Fit on the spot when I first visited, suggesting that the cost of my new car might not be guaranteed or that my trade-in value might be lower if I didn't buy then and there. I do not like those kind of high pressure sales tactics, and when I explained this to BA, he immediately spoke to the manager and smoothed things out within 2-3 minutes. (My experience at the other Columbia area Honda dealership was more typical: I spoke to the sales person, and he would leave me sitting for 15-20 minutes each time he spoke to the sales manager.) Also, when I actually purchased the car at Honda of Columbia, the sales manager that day (don't know if it was the same or different person) was a bit high pressure as well in trying to get me to sign up for the extended warranty then and there. Same deal as before . . . sign now, or you won't get this price tomorrow. I expected as much at the sale, so that didn't really bother me. But aside from this minor hitch, I can say that working with BA and Honda of Columbia was terrific, and that my "internet price" was better than I had originally hoped. I would certainly recommend working with BA if you're in the market for a Honda. More

Honda cars of columbia is a no pressure, no gimmicks, and definitely no smoke and mirrors. They show true southern hospilality from beginning to end. We bought a 2012 Honda Odyssey EXL-RES Black Pearl. All negotiations were done via internet by getting quotes from a number of Honda dealerships in SC,NC, and GA. Honda of Columbia offered the best price negotiations were done via internet by getting quotes from a number of Honda dealerships in SC,NC, and GA. Honda of Columbia offered the best price up front, and the other dealerships flat out said they could not match it. The buying process was as simple as walking into the dealership, asking for the internet salesman (Matt Taylor) with whom I had been emailing, and making the deal. After negotiating the sales price, I offered my current vehicle for possible trade. Honda of Columbia offered me $1500 more than a Carmax quote earlier in the day, so we worked that into the deal also. Overall, we experienced a hassle free buying experience, and we are confident that we received the best possible deal on our vehicle. More
