We went to this dealership on Saturday at approximately 5:00 p.m, we were promptly greeted by the receptionist and we advised her that we were hear to look for a new Pilot. We waited a long time and final 5:00 p.m, we were promptly greeted by the receptionist and we advised her that we were hear to look for a new Pilot. We waited a long time and finally met with Paul Aweeky. Paul showed us the Pilot and gave us great insight on the car. After we liked the car we asked him for a price. Paul came back with a price which was slightly higher than what we were offered at another dealer. We should him the quote from the other dealer and he said he would beat the quote. He came back with a quote, which we liked. We told him that we would come back on Monday to buy the car. He was ok with that but the sales manager Chuck came up to us and made a racial remark and stated that the quote was only good for that day and will not offer us the price on Monday and walked away. However Paul told us he will still give us the deal if we came back on Monday. Oh Monday, I called Paul to verify that he would still make good on his deal and he called me back and offered to discount the vehicle further. We went back to dealer and met with Paul. He came good on his word and offered us the car at even a lower price. We were very pleased with Paul and only returned back to this dealer because of the way Paul spoke with us and his professionalism. We highly recommend dealing with Paul Aweeky in purchasing a car. In fact, we planning to buy another car in the next few weeks from him. Overall the dealership lacks and can better their customer service experience, however working with Paul Aweeky was an excellent experience and we highly recommend working with him. More
This was the third Pilot I have purchased from Honda of Freehold. I have always been impressed with the way I was treated at this dealership and again was very pleased with DJ Wilson, the sales person who Freehold. I have always been impressed with the way I was treated at this dealership and again was very pleased with DJ Wilson, the sales person who took care of me this time. I specifically chose him because he had been the sales person for my son when he purchased his first brand new car and we were very pleased with the way he treated us and our son when we were there. He was very informative as to the vehicle I was purchasing. He took the time to go over all the details of my new car. He was considerate to offer me coffee and other refreshments and to make me comfortable while waiting. The car buying process is long but Honda of Freehold employees are very friendly and try to accommodate their customers. Overall, my car buying experience at Honda of Freehold has always been pleasant even the third time around. That is why I always return to Honda of Freehold. I would recommend this dealership and have in the past. More
Sold car that i left deposit to someone else , charged my credit card for the deposit after he told me the car was sold to someone else and has not issued the credit yet The shame is the sales guy, Ron, credit card for the deposit after he told me the car was sold to someone else and has not issued the credit yet The shame is the sales guy, Ron, was really great and checked twice if the car was available before we even test drove the car, so Mike your caught, because you scheme to sell me the more expensive car you offered exposed your lowlife tactics. Hopefully someone from Honda corporate contacts you personally. More
My wife, two young (5 and 2 yrs old) daughters and I were travelling to the USA on holidays between 5th-13th July. Our itinerary was to head from Canada to visit friends in the Freehold area before departing travelling to the USA on holidays between 5th-13th July. Our itinerary was to head from Canada to visit friends in the Freehold area before departing Wed 10th July for Vermont, and then return home to Canada on the 13th July. Unfortunately, on the Sat 6th July on route to NJ we hit a deer with our 2012 Honda Odyssey minivan. Thankfully no one in our car, or any other around us, was injured. We managed to make it to NJ after stopping to assess the immediate damage. We contacted Honda of Freehold on Monday, and I spoke with Rebecca about booking an appointment to assess whether our vehicle would be safe, or at least could be repaired sufficiently, to complete our trip and return home. Rebecca arranged a first thing Tues 9th July morning inspection while I continued to coordinate with my insurance company. She also gave me her initial impression after looking over the vehicle, and assessing the damage, alerted me to the fact that there may in fact be extensive work not easily repaired in a short time. Her instincts were later confirmed by the inspection estimates (quite extensive). Rebecca clearly explained my options, contacted the Collision Repair shop their company uses to request an estimate and timing required if repaired in the US, and even contacted their transport company to determine possibility of using that company to transport our vehicle back home to Canada. After discussions with our insurance company, it was decided that we would arrange to ship our vehicle back home to be repaired, and my family was able to continue on our trip as planned in a rental car. The main reason for this review is to express my sincere gratitude to Rebecca, and Honda of Freehold, for going above and beyond required "duties" to help my family during difficult circumstances while we were away from home. I know for certain that without Rebecca's concerted efforts, expertise, due diligence and compassion, my family and I would not have been able to complete the necessary arrangements to continue on with the rest of our planned trip. Moreover, my anxieties were considerably eased when Rebecca assured me that she would remain in email and cell phone contact with me throughout this process after I left the NJ area, and confirmed our vehicle would be fine to remain at the company until arrangements were made to transport it back to Canada. She provided me all the paperwork from the damage assessments performed and when I inquired how much I owed, she responded there was no charge since there was nothing they could do to repair it unless it went to the body shop for about a week (which we didn't have time to wait for due to our limited travel time) and plus my family had already been through enough inconvenience. She also didn't have any problem receiving copies of the necessary documents for customs import after the fact, and confirmed for me all was placed in the vehicle as per the instructions from the transport company. I understand now that our vehicle was just recently picked up and is on route home (~2 weeks after the incident). My first and all subsequent vehicles have been Hondas, and in their lifetimes, I have dealt with a number of different Honda Service Centers and dealerships throughout Canada and the USA. Though the circumstances described above were unique, and I hope will never be repeated, I can honestly say my brief experience with Honda of Freehold, and Rebecca, were the best imaginable. I feel as though Rebecca treated me as a family member. They certainly provide great personalized care, professionalism and attention to their customers. I can't thank them enough. More
It was a great experience. It did take longer than I had expected but I had not bought a car in over a decade. My father and I had a terrific experience with Dj Wilson and the rest of the Honda of Freehold Staff. Dan was extremely patient and helpful when my girlfriend and I went in to lease the 2013 Honda Civic. I would refer anyone who was interested in a car to Dan Spencer. and I went in to lease the 2013 Honda Civic. I would refer anyone who was interested in a car to Dan Spencer. More
I visited this dealer to check out a 2010 Acura TSX w/ Tech Package which was listed on their website. The photographs do not depict the car properly. It is scratched up and is in need of some serious d Tech Package which was listed on their website. The photographs do not depict the car properly. It is scratched up and is in need of some serious detail work. I figured they would be willing to negotiate the price. The internet price is 1k lower than the window sticker and they agreed to this price, however they refuse to negotiate any lower. They also refuse to acknowledge Edmund's TMV pricing on the vehicle. To top it off, they low balled me on a potential trade in. The sales manager did not even have the courtesy to sit down and discuss the deal. I sat in the parts department area where the sales associate (in-experienced) ran back and forth between the manager and myself. Run, don't walk away from this dealership! More
I called sales dept and spoke with Bethany before visiting to confirm the specifics of a lease offer published in newspaper. After confirming my understanding of the offer, I made appointment for tod visiting to confirm the specifics of a lease offer published in newspaper. After confirming my understanding of the offer, I made appointment for today to lease vehicle and drive it off lot. As the offer was really good, I asked Bethany to double check and call me back if different than what was published and what we discussed, as I didn't want to waste my time. At the dealership, I spoke with Paul who looked at ad, then took a copy to his manager up front. He came back and told me his manager said there was a typo in the ad, and to get to the advertised monthly payment I'd have to pay more than double the advertised price at lease inception. Or I could make the advertised lease inception payment but monthly payment would go from 169 to 185. He apologized and suggested I contact GM. When I told him I'd complete lease per advert, he went to discuss with another manager, who of course came out to talk to me. He said there was no misprint, and said tax was not included even though that's what the ad clearly states. So even though Paul could not understand the ad, and his first manager claimed it was a misprint, this guy comes out and tells me it is my misunderstanding and their ad is accurate. It is not. Despite my call to sales in advance of my visit, and their claim that ad was accurate and I understood the terms correctly (I went so far as to confirm that I'd write a check in the amount of 1063 and drive off with a new car and a 169/mo payment, which sales associate Bethany confirmed), it is now obvious that they just wanted to get me in the showroom and sell me on a lease with different terms. Bait and Switch in it's purest form. I am disgusted. I won't say I'll never, ever buy a Honda. But I will never buy a vehicle from Freehold Honda ... NEVER. I live in freehold, operate several businesses in Freehold, and make every effort to do business locally. But I can't imagine ever setting foot in Freehold Honda showroom again. In fairness, Paul Aweeky seemed to at least make an effort to resolve a situation that was none of his doing. More
My overall experience with this dealership was terrible. I purchased a used 2008 toyota highlander. i called to make an appointment to see car. After traveling 45 minutes to the dealership, I was told the I purchased a used 2008 toyota highlander. i called to make an appointment to see car. After traveling 45 minutes to the dealership, I was told the car had been sold that afternoon. i left angry. i got a phone call 10 minutes after i left saying the car was still on the lot if i wanted to look at it. i was already on my way home so i didnt go back. I went back to see the car the next day. The salesmen were nice. I test drove the car and decided to purchase. I had the car for three weeks and it started to smell a little musty. I went to get the car washed and got all new mats for the floors. The smell remained. i took out the new mats to see if the rug was wet from the car wash. It was. i pushed down on the carpet and there was a puddle under the front passenger carpeting from a leak coming from the outside. I called the dealership and spoke to the sales manager Mike Smith. He said i could take the car there and get it checked out but it would not be covered under my dealer warranty. (60 days or 2000 miles 100% parts 100% labor) i was within limits but Mike said this would not be covered nor did he believe the problem was his problem. I brought the car to my mechanic and he told me the front window glass had been replaced at some point. This was not in the carfax. I told Mike what the problem was to see if he would fix it but his answer was still NO. He sold me a car that leaks and he wont fix it. Not the customer service i expect from a reputable dealer. They act more like a chop shop. This LEAK was the major problem i had with this dealership. I wasn't going to write a bad review at first. Even when they sold me a car with TWO RECALLS on it. I only found out when i went to get a second key made up. (they only had one when i bought the car) $377 later. For a key. I wish i would have had them make me one. They never offered a second key. I didn't think much of it until i saw the bill for the key. I can deal with the key and i will get the recalls fixed. I can't deal with being sold a defective car and nothing being done by Honda of Freehold to remedy this problem. Bad Business. More
