Both t live in New York , however , returned to Honda Freehold because of the of the great customer service and attentiveness that i always receive. Both times we have always dealt with great sales people but the best person there is Dan Malloy. My husband and i received such a great deal that we ended up leasing two cars. More

HONDA OF FREEHOLD had a 2007 VW Passat listed with 52000 miles. The price was decent at roughly 11500. We took the car for a test ride, and all seemed well. They showed us a clean carfax . Knowing the GM, I asked him about the car. He assured me that “HONDA OF FREEHOLD does no put junk on their lots”. “All are car have been inspected by certified techs” He says. Well with David Michael VW being a sister ship dealer, I took them at face value. Two months off the lot, the wife says the car stalled and now we don’t have air conditioning. I decide to check it out, I put the car on a scanner and notice no codes were thrown. I go through the wiring harness and fuse box, all check out. We have voltage up to the compressor. I search the internet, within seconds I come across multiple service bulletins regarding 2005-08 VW’s with immanent air conditioning failure due to lack of oil in the system. I call HONDA OF FREEHOLD, and explain what I found. They tend to blow me off and say that the only diagnosis they can take is from their tech. Ok fine, I set up an appointment, drop the car by. I also explain to them, I have found oil in the intercooler, which would indicate a failing seal on the turbo. Later on I receive a call from the service write who explains to me the bill will be over 2200 dollars because the whole AC system needs to be replaced and that oil in the intercooler is normal(any diesel mechanic or mechanic that has worked with forced induction know that pumping oil into the engine through the throttle will indefinitely shorten the life due to carbon buildup and preignition/detonation , and if in excess hydro locking). I call of HONDA OF FREEHOLD, explain that to them, because the GM was away at training, it took a week to get an answer back. I explained to them, if this car was checked out by a certified tech why were the issues not found and resolved. The answer I got was we can not for see the future, and if the tech didn’t notice it then it must have been ok. Well there is a multitude of documentation regarding both these problems. This means one of two things. 1: Either their techs are uneducated or They knew of the problems and hoped they didn’t happen soon enough. After fighting with them, and to be fair my stance was not to have the dealer cover the whole bill, I though it fair that the dealer work with me, potentially cover half as a domestic manufacture would have since the vehicle was just over warranty. After pestering and pestering the dealer agrees to cover a little bit, so I agree. As the wife picks up the car, they explain to her that she should get a discount. She pays and takes the car home. I look over the bill, and go through the roof when I discover that there was no discount and it was actually more than the estimate. I have also learned the Volkswagen auto group does not have factory services reps as domestic automobile manufactures do and that VAG of America is out of touch with their products and there technician are apparently uneducated. So the consensus of my experience is, do not by a Volkswagen without a full warranty. Do not trust any word spoken to you at HONDA OF FREEHOLD. More
Getting a quote online prior to visiting the showroom was extremely helpful which made it easier to reach an agreement on price and the features that I wanted. We did our homework & went in prepare I went to the Freehold dealership with my daughter on 6/14/10, who is expecting her third child 6/28/10. We did our homework & went in prepared to buy a 2010 Odyssey with all the extras. We spoke to Marco—told him he didn’t even have to show us the car—we knew exactly what we wanted & were ready to close the deal. (Shazia was present for the negotiation & we were told she would take care of the sale). We agreed to a price and put a deposit to hold the van until my son-in-law was able to get there to sign the papers. My daughter called & asked if they could pick up the car on Sat (6/20) & was told they dont do pickups on Saturday because they are very busy. They asked her to pick it up on Monday (6/21). Monday morning she got a call from Shazia saying that the car was hit in the lot & the bumper was damaged, and they would get her another van by Wednesday or Thursday. We were going out that night & were passing the dealership, & I told my daughter we should stop by & see how badly the car was damaged, as she is now less than a week before her due date & needs the car. As we drove in the lot, a man was driving the car in question to the showroom door. I got out of our car & looked at the VIN# and it was HER car!! (there was no damage on either bumper) They only had 1 Odyssey in the dark cherry color with the navigation system at the Freehold dealership (there are only 3 in the whole central NJ area in that color--we had called all of the dealerships when we were 'shopping') I went into the showroom & confronted Marco, asking why that man was driving my daughter's car & he insisted it was not the same car. In the process, he changed the story to 'it was not the bumper, it was that something happened to the roof!!'. I told him it was the only van that they had & we had a deposit on it. He insisted I was wrong & when I asked for the printout of her sale sheet, they had already changed the VIN# to another car they were swapping with another dealership!! Then, as if to show that I was wrong, they told me that the man already had his plates on the car!!! So??? what was that supposed to proove? I was so furious by now that they were trying to BS me, that we went back home & got the paperwork & brought it back to them, showed them the VIN#, proving that I was right about the car. Suddenly Marco was very busy & had to leave his desk & never returned. Then I spoke to Andrew, who tried to appease me and even offered to give us a better deal on the car they were going to get us. I told him there was NO WAY that we would have anything to do with them and their unprofessional manner of dealing with customers. FREEHOLD HONDA LACKS INTEGRITY & we could not trust anything they said. The bottom line is they sold the car, took the deposit, then turned around & leased the same car (I'm sure for more money) to someone else. If we had not decided to stop there to see the 'damage' on the car (there was none) we would not have seen the other customer drive out with it. AND THEY HAD NO PROBLEM DOING THIS TO A 9 MONTHS PREGNANT WOMAN !! They LIED about the bumper being damaged, then they LIED about the roof being damaged to cover up the first LIE, then they LIED about it being a different car when we had the VIN# to prove that it was the same car, then the final cover-up was when Andrew asked me "Isn't it possible that it was just a simple mistake?" - that the car was just not tagged as 'sold'!!"? (AND HE SAID IT WITH A STRAIGHT FACE!!) We have the receipt, the printout of the whole transaction with the options, prices, & financing, signed by the manager, and they are asking us to believe that the deal did not show up on the computer when somebody went in to lease the same car! I would NEVER recommend anyone buy from FREEHOLD HONDA--THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED & THEIR WORD IS WORTHLESS!! Save yourself the aggrivation & go to KAY HONDA instead! (We called them when we were on our way back to Freehold with the sales agreement) They got us the van for the same price, we got it on Thursday & did the whole transaction on the phone & e-mail & just went there to pick it up!!! Lloyd was excellent, very helpful, honest & understanding. WE ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND KAY HONDA & LLOYD !!! More

they wasted my time two times. Gave me different quote on phone and different quote in showroom. When I went there , they made me wait for 30 mins before even attending to me. Ask me for a deposit , just phone and different quote in showroom. When I went there , they made me wait for 30 mins before even attending to me. Ask me for a deposit , just for even iving a price quote. Lost my first credit application and made me fill it twice. Constanly changed the price quote and changed it many times in same day. Worst experience I had , compared to the other good dealers in area like DCH honda. i wouldnt recommend them to anyone More
