tried multiple times making an appointment for an oil change because I am very busy. had to pick my son up at a train station 20 minutes away, and gave an hour and 10 to get only oil done. when I arrived change because I am very busy. had to pick my son up at a train station 20 minutes away, and gave an hour and 10 to get only oil done. when I arrived advised me no appointment was made or required and said it would be 1.5 hours at earliest for "express service". drove all the way to Princeton that early to get a 20 minute oil change all to realize i couldn't get one with all the time I allotted for it. I really wanted to be a customer of Princeton Honda, as they are up the road, but their dynamics and higher prices make it clear that it won't happen. This was my second Honda purchase in which I attempte they are up the road, but their dynamics and higher prices make it clear that it won't happen. This was my second Honda purchase in which I attempted to buy from Princeton Honda. In my first interaction, three years ago, I shopped the price at another dealer first (Autosport Honda, Bridgewater) and then went to Princeton. I provided them with my new car price they offered, the amount they offered on my trade and my finance plan. They said "if" Autosport offered me the prices I gave them on my new car sale and my trade-in....that I should RUN back and get it. (As if I were making the numbers up...and it was a sarcastic tone). Well, I didn't run. I drove back calmly...and made the exact deal with Bridgewater, purchasing a brand new 2010 Ridgeline. A few years after, 2013 I thought to trade in the garage kept barely used Ridgeline on a sedan, again getting a price from Bridgewater Autosport first. I didn't have reason to go to Princeton, other than preferring their location, but I gave them a second chance. This time, I sent pictures of my trade to the internet manager, and detail on the trade amount I was offered and the new car price I was quoted, so I wouldn't be wasting my time again if they wouldn't touch the price. He reviewed the detail of the trade price and the pictures and called me sayng if the truck is what I say and what it looks to be...they "probably" could make the deal...or even do better. Maybe they changed their business model? I was greeted by the internet manager and told they converted their system overnight and my info was lost, so I will need to detail it again with the sales associate. I was punted back into their game again. The same sales professonal (ironically) and the same sales pitch received as a few years earlier, asking me the same questions, telling me the trade is valued less without even seeing it yet. I do my homework, but I allowed myself to be played by the Princeton game again and it made me feel foolish. I sat at his desk while he drove my Ridgeline. When he walked back...he asked me the price I wanted (I wasted time sending email to internet manager with all detail of the deal I was shopping, so I wouldnt have to go through this game) but it's part of the Princeton game. I didn't budge, and I left again. This time, I made the best deal at a third dealership, who gave me an even HIGHER trade in value than that offered by Autosport, which was the offer Princeton Honda didn't even want to compete with (again). I also received a lower price on the new car, only this time, at Clinton Honda. My experience with Princeton on both occassions over years, is if you come in prepared with COMPETITVE numbers, what you know is current competitve deal paid for your new car in area, found on internet sites and you want a competitive price for your trade, based on honest assessment of condition, Princeton will "let you" walk. I did twice. In my experience, they seem to have a higher profit margin requirement per vehicle sold than the two dealerships I mentioned. I should tell you it took MINIMAL effort to get the better deals (not alot of my time, all spent via internet communication...I don't haggle). Princeton has nice people but unless you are less concerned about price (and I'm not talking $500...I saved $1,900 on the 2010 deal and $2,300 on the 2013 deal) then I don't see the attraction to Princeton. Princeton did say they provide free oil changes life of car...but people, you pay for them...in the higher sale price. Perhaps oil changes are the reason they don't offer lowest prices? In fact, to be fair, I don't see Princeton advertise that "they will beat any price" so perhaps that's NOT there business model. They don't. The savings I realized was NOT the product of hard line haggling, I don't like to do that. Internet communication drives deals. You do it from home via email with dealerships willing to move cars. Today, I drive my brand new Accord past Princeton's dealership. They have alot of positive reviews, so I can only assume that "price" is not the key factor with those buyers. I will say that I was told by Princeton the other dealerships did not offer the level of service as theirs and suggested they may not honor the verbal offer they gave me. I can attest that in my experience with the other two dealerships, they both have great service and kept their word on the deals. Point being, the best deal probably will NOT be found at Princeton and was easily attained elsewhere, based on my two experiences. I simply wanted consumers to have this in mind. As I said, I wanted to be a customer of Princeton Honda, but not at any price. They held strong at a higher profit margin and I was easily able to get better prices in the two other dealerships, which they chose not to match with each purchase. If you shop Princeton only, odds are, you are paying a measurable amount more, but you do get "free" oil changes. More
They tried to rip me off. Got a call from Mike saying they were selling Odyssey 2014 at invoice or below. Explained I had a 2011 lease with 6 months remaining but with 8,000 miles in my favor so I wanted they were selling Odyssey 2014 at invoice or below. Explained I had a 2011 lease with 6 months remaining but with 8,000 miles in my favor so I wanted to share that equity with them and to apply my portion as a down-payment and Mike said that was doable. So Saturday morning went there, met with Matt, the salesman, who reviewed my current lease and validated that the payoff was $ 24,073. Matt told me that he had “good news”: they were going to let me get out of my 2011 lease by charging me only $ 500. Similar certified used vehicles were advertised above $ 29,000. So basically they were going to pay Honda Financial Services ~ $ 24,000 for the vehicle, collect $ 500 from me and made a profit selling it at about $ 28,500 ($ 29,000 revenue after maybe $ 24,500 cost for buying it from HFS plus car wash and certification). So he was taking my equity, charging me additional $ 500 and presenting the deal as giving me a favor. When I mentioned that he was wrong and that with my previous lease another dealer accepted to share the equity, Joe, the “Sales Manager” said that it was illegal to sell a car owned by someone else, something that really pissed me off as he was treating me as a delinquent or as a idiot (or both). When I explained to him that what he said was BS as the car was purchased from HFS before selling it, he said “OK, but if we do this for you (share with you the equity you have on your current lease) would you be willing to pay MSRP?.” The only reason I went that day to the dealership was because I received the call from them saying that they were selling the car below invoice. This experience was very unprofessional. More
I went into Princeton Honda very upside down on the car I owned. I was looking to lease a new car and get out of my current car. Taylor spent hours with going over all my options and explaining everything to owned. I was looking to lease a new car and get out of my current car. Taylor spent hours with going over all my options and explaining everything to me step by step. He really listen to what I wanted and was very upfront and honest with me. He helped me get out of my current car and into a brand new 2013 civic lease. I could not have asked for a better salesman! The dealership was clean and they were all very friendly. The finance guy Shea was amazing he went over every piece of paper with me and told me exactly what I was signing and what I was getting! Love this dealership! More

We came to this dealership expecting a great experience as has been the case with several of our friends. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Keep in mind that we've bought many Hondas in the past and a as has been the case with several of our friends. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Keep in mind that we've bought many Hondas in the past and are loyal Honda customers, we've always had a pleasant customer experience, and that is a big reason as to why we chose to go with Honda again. We do not haggle about pricing or incentives, we understand that car sales is a business and that the dealership needs to make money too. Because of this, we had gone to the dealership a day before the sale in order to negotiate pricing and we had come to figure that both parties agreed was fair. Everything was supposed to be in place and we were there simply to sign the paperwork and finalize the purchase, pick up the car and drive home happy Honda customers. Fast forward to the day of the sale, after the final price was agreed upon and the title of our trade in turned over, we waited an additional 5+ hours before we were able to leave with the vehicle. Three of those hours were spent just waiting for the business manager, who never introduced himself or cared to apologize for the delay. Again, we're very reasonable customers, if they had just said they're really busy and it would be several hours before we can finalize everything, we would've been ok with that, but instead they kept promising that we'd be in the business office in 15 minutes. Two hours later we finally were in the business office with Derrik who was quit rude. When we complained about the wait time he remarked, we do not rush here, as was evident as he did not seem to be doing very much at all. He even threatened me, stating that he knew people where I worked. This I did not appreciate. He meant it as a joke, but at this point we were already so frustrated that it was no joking matter. I let it go. I figured he was stressed out and that he'd treat us better as the process went on. This was not the case. He spoke to us in a belittling and disrespectful manner. He exuded a "you don't know any better" attitude which was very disappointing considering how much research we had done on this car. We're car people, and suffice it to say, we knew that car inside and out. He didn't even know which model we were purchasing, he had no paperwork ready for us and was actually printing out papers while speaking to us. He even went so far as to take a personal phone call during the meeting! Very rude indeed. Finally we got through the paperwork after I was forced to raise my voice, something I rarely do. We didn't end up leaving the dealership until 10:00 pm, price negotiations were finished at 4:30 pm. This is unacceptable. We will never come back to this dealership again, they're lucky we didn't walk out. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Beware. More
