I was recently in a car accident and car got deemed a total loss. I was not in a good situation to get a car but I had no choice but to try. Sad experience. I saw a vehicle online for my parents and went there with them to see it. When we walked in a tall young polite salesman greeted us. I told him what I saw a vehicle online for my parents and went there with them to see it. When we walked in a tall young polite salesman greeted us. I told him what we were here to see and the woman at the desk asked me to sign in with my name, phone number and email address which I gladly did. The young salesman said he was going to get the keys to the car. When he came back he said he needed to “put me in the system” before we could continue. I was confused. I told him we just wanted to look at the car and if we liked it we would then proceed. Soon after another salesman or manager named Garret came over and introduced himself. He repeated what the young salesman said. So I replied the same and added we would purchase today if the price was right. He continued that it was dealership policy to check people in to their system. I told him my information was at the front desk and I wasn’t sure what else he needed. He repeated himself. I said we are now wasting time discussing this and not the car. He told me I was the one wasting my time. I told him I’ve never had to get “checked in” to anyones system at any other dealer and he repeated it was policy. My parents and I walked out. We purchased at DCH Honda in Old Bridge. No check in. More
