1 week after buying:safety expired and $50 oil change needed My experience with Honolulu Ford was.....okay. The process of buying the car was good--the salesman obviously had a job to do so he was trying to sell My experience with Honolulu Ford was.....okay. The process of buying the car was good--the salesman obviously had a job to do so he was trying to sell me on the car, but it wasn't over the top which I appreciated. I am more disappointed with Honolulu Ford's overall service to the customer, however. Within one week of taking the car home, the safety inspection expired, the check engine light came on, and the oil change light lit up. The 60-day warranty covered the check engine light work, but they charged us $50 for an oil change that (in my opinion) should have been done before selling the vehicle. That seems to be an easy check before putting a vehicle on the lot to sell. The fact that the safety inspection expired a week later and we had to pay $50 for an oil change 3 weeks after rolling off the lot speaks volumes about their care to provide a quality product to their customers. These are smaller details, I realize, but I'm pretty disappointed. I would have thought they had more pride in their service. In my opinion, it's these smaller details that set apart the better dealerships. More
