afternoon with no intention to purchase a car, but decided to purchase one after a test drive. Keith started off very friendly, but that wore off after about an hour. Towards the end, it was very evident to me that he did not want to be there anymore. As someone who has worked in customer service, it is never okay to give off that kind of energy to a customer. I would have been willing to put down a deposit and return another day to purchase the car, but that was never suggested. Keith, it seemed like you've been working there for a while; don't act like this was the first time you ever had to stay after close.
I felt very patronized when I told him what I wanted to put down as a down payment, and he thought I was joking. Also when he asked what I did for a career his response was a very sarcastic, "That's what you do?"
When I asked him about interest rates he said, "I wish you would have asked me about that sooner." I literally had no idea what I was doing, and at this point, he hadn't mentioned interest either. He also told me, "You'll never qualify for the lowest interest rate. FICO credit scores are all made up." Lo and behold, guess who qualified for the lowest interest rate offered.
If you are a first time car buyer who is looking to be patronized and blatantly insulted, Keith is your guy.
On the other hand, James Sullivan was the best. He explained everything to me very clearly, and was very detailed. He was very understanding, and helped me understand the process. When questions do arise, James is always very helpful. The dealership is very lucky to have him on the team.
