I hate the car buying process, but Chuck made this experience very easy and pleasant. They were very up front with every thing. I drove up from Gainesville because they were almost $3000 dollars ch experience very easy and pleasant. They were very up front with every thing. I drove up from Gainesville because they were almost $3000 dollars cheaper than the Gainesville dealership for the exact same car and package. They also stayed open later to allow me to make the drive up after work to pick up my car, which I am very happy with. This was by far the most pleasant car buying experience I have ever had. I never felt at anytime that I was being taken advantage of. I highly recommend this dealership, and specifically Chuck Klacko to any one thinking of buying a Toyota. More
On June 25, 2009, I had to pay an unexpected visit to the Roundtree Moore dealership. I was on vacation with my 5-year old daughter and best friend. Our destination was Kissimmee Fl for some fun at Univers Roundtree Moore dealership. I was on vacation with my 5-year old daughter and best friend. Our destination was Kissimmee Fl for some fun at Universal Stuidos and DisneWorld. We were on I75 near Jasper, Florida when the harmonic balancer fell off my car. I called my insurance company to have my 1994 Toyota Camry towed to the Roundtree Moore dealership in Lake City. The staff was very friendly and told me that the part would have to be ordered and my car would be ready the next day. I gave Chris my contact information. My sister who was traveling from Goose Creek SC to meet us in Kissimmee, changed her route so she could pick us up at the dealership. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get to our hotel. The next morning we went to Universal. Since the weather felt good after the noon rain shower I decided to pick the car up on Saturday instead of that day. Around 4:00 I realized that noone had called me from the dealership. I called and Chris Summerlin told me that she left a message around 2:00 telling me that my car was ready. I told her that I must have missed her call and that I would pick it up in the morning. She said that would be fine. The next morning we started our 2 1/2 hour drive to Lake City. We arrived around noon to find out that the service department was closed, but Chris had made arrangements with one of the sales reps to handle the processing of my car. I paid $353.56 and got the keys to my car. We decided to go down the street to the store to waste a little time before we got back on the road. As I started to pull out of the dealership I noticed that the car felt like it was pulling. I decided to drive down the street to determine if something else was wrong with the car. When I pulled out into the street it was really evident that something else was wrong with the car. I could not believe that noone did not hear the noise when they test drove the car after it was fixed. I drove it back to the dealership. Another sales rep., Lee, came out and asked her was everything okay. I have to add that Lee was very nice and concerned from day one. I asked him to ride in the car with us so he could hear the noise. He heard the noise and agreed that the car did not sound like it was safe to drive. Since the service department was closed I had not choice but to leave the car at the dealership til Monday. I was furious. We got back into my sister's truck and drove 2 1/2 hours back to Kissimmee, what a wasted trip. We got back around 4:00 and headed to DisneyWorld around 5:00. The majority of our day was gone due to the ride to and from Lake City, but fortunately my daughter still had a good time. On our way back to Kissimmee I had to decide how to handle staying an extra day since we were due to check out of our hotel on Sunday. We checked out on Sunday and traveled back to Lake City and stayed the night in another hotel so I could be at the dealership in the morning. I called the service department at 7:30 but noone answered, I left a message for someone to call me back. I never received a call. After we had breakfast, we drove to the dealership. Chris was with a customer when I came in. After she finished her customer the mechanic came in to tell her about my car. She told me that both CV axles needed to be fixed (I was aware of this issue), she also mentioned that I needed a new or used transmission which would be $1395(used). She also mentioned other issues but I was stunned about the transmission. I asked her if the mechanic drove the car after he fixed it and she said "no". After it was fixed he drove it right out to the service bay. I asked her if he knew that the car had other problems and she said that he mentioned that the car had issues but he didn't give any details. When she called me she did not mention that there were other problems, she told me the car was ready to be picked up!!! If she had told me that the car possibly needed a transmission I would not have made the trip on Saturday to pick it up nor spent the money to stay an extra night at a hotel. I knew my car was not worth putting that kind of money into it. I would have opted to purchase another car before I spent almost $2200 getting it fixed. I can not believe that she would have knowingly allowed me and my family to get back on the road to Columbus Georgia in a car that could have broke down in the middle of nowhere. We were blessed when the car first broke down because we were right at an exit that had a gas station. I have never had that kind of experience especially at a Toyota dealership. Any time you have a car serviced and their are other issues that need to be fixed, they will call you to let you know the issues and ask if you want them fixed. Not receiving this simply courtesy was unthinkable in my case. My sister, best friend and myself were livid over this oversight. My best friend asked to speak to a manager. My sister and myself went into the office of Chuck Brannaka, which was another waste of time. We told him the situation and told him that noone informed me ahead of time about the other problems and that the car would not make it back to Columbus. He was stuck of trying to explain to us what was wrong with the car. I told him that if my mechanic in Columbus did not maintenance my car as he should have then I will deal with him when I get back to Columbus. Our issue was that we would have gotten on the highway with a car doomed to fall apart. He called the mechanic in the office to find out if the information was conveyed to Chris and he said that he told Chris, but it was late in the day and they were very busy. The mechanic stated that maybe Chris misunderstood him or didn't hear him. Shouldn't this informatin be written down or entered into a compute instead of word of mouth? We explained to Chuck that we drove back to Lake City and spent another night at a hotel and that we were going to have to rent a car to get back to Columbus. He didn't offer to help in any kind of way other than to call Hertz to get a discount for the rental car, and that wasn't his idea, my sister asked if he knew some rental agencies. You know, if the price was right I would have purchased a vehicle from their dealership because everyone was so nice and I love my Toyota, but this experience has about turned my head away from Toyota's. I shouldn't allow one bad experience to turn me away from a good car but when you put my family in jeopardy and consider it a miscommunication that is unexpectable. More
