My experience with Ira Lexus began on 7/21/24. We were looking to downsize our current vehicle to an NX 350 F Sport. Unfortunately, after speaking with the Sales Consultant, we found that they did not have the vehicle we were looking for. However, Lexus of Watertown had the exact vehicle we were looking to lease or purchase. Our consultant made every effort to get the vehicle but was unable to. This resulted in my wife and I going to Watertown Lexus to view the vehicle and ultimately purchase the vehicle on 7/25/24. We were supposed to take delivery of the vehicle on 7/30. Due to our terrible experience, I asked for my deposit back and contacted our consultant again. Both of us were transparent in our intentions. Before we went to Watertown Lexus, a suggestion was made of looking at an RX, and they had two F-Sport RXs that they could give a great deal on if we chose them. My wife and I decided to go back down and look at the RX as we gave our work to our consultant, and if anything happened, we would return to see him. We arrived at the dealership at 6 pm and texted him. He was with some other customers, which wasn't a problem. We waited a short time, and he had us work with another consultant. We drove the vehicle, and I also provided him with the contract from Watertown so they could see the deal we had negotiated. I explained our situation, our negative experience at Watertown, and how I was already feeling a bit soured toward car dealers in general. Still, I wanted to give Ira a chance because I felt I owed it to them. The big problem was when the Sales Director, James Brooks, came and introduced himself. He gave the vibe that he did not want to be there. He initially informed me that the deal he had in front of him involved a trade, and the 10 percent we were offered off any vehicle in the lot would not apply because we had a trade. He indicated that he did not want the vehicle, and when I asked what he was giving for the trade, he was 4k lower than Watertown, knowing exactly what they were giving me for the trade because he had the paperwork I gave him from there. He then told me that I was looking at a car that was 10k more, which I pointed out was not the case. The RX was only about 6.5k more than what I was looking at. I also informed him that the deal for Watertown was for a 2025 NX 350 F Sport AND my trade. He clearly did not like any pushback at all because his response was that all they do is shuffle numbers. NO KIDDING!!!!! What does he think he does? THE SAME THING. I then Informed him that TRU CAR was the place where IRA OWNS was giving me more for my car than he was, and he acted like he didn't believe my wife, and she had a text thread to show him. He responded by looking at the time and telling us that he was sitting there a half hour longer than he should have been because they closed a half hour ago. I was so upset because of what I had just gone through at Watertown; I could not believe I was going through the same nonsense. My wife spoke with Jim for a short time longer, and my consultant walked us out. I made it very clear that I was not happy with how Jim was, and I think the poor consultants were trying to defend him by saying he was tired and wanted to go home. I will close with this: I work in a customer service-related field, and I am on call 24 hours a day. When you serve your community, you work until the job is done. There are days we are tired, miss our families, etc. I have been there. I certainly did not feel like being at a dealership after my experiences, but I chose to go there and give IRA a chance. People like Jim should stay where they belong is behind the desk and glass wall; perhaps someone with better interpersonal skills who might not be as tired should go out and greet the customers and try to close the deals with them. I am available to discuss further if needed. More
