I first went to Berlin city who seemed to have 4 siennas but did not and up-charged 2k above msrp and it was evidently a 6 month wait for a sienna. I then called 2 other dealers and it seemed like siennas but did not and up-charged 2k above msrp and it was evidently a 6 month wait for a sienna. I then called 2 other dealers and it seemed like siennas were not accessible. A mutual friend of Berto told me to call him. I was doubtful and disappointed but called Berto who told me they had a fully loaded platinum sienna at msrp available. I was sold. The vehicle is like a space shuttle. I am a lifer… no upcharge and I got the van of my life. I know minivans are not for everyone but if you are like me…you appreciate the value and space and comfort and safety and efficiency of the minivan. (35 mpg) Thank Berto…the stars aligned. The 4Runner I was interested in had not been through their shop. In order to put a deposit on it to reserve it, I had to go to the dealership, which was a 2.5 hour car ride away. So I traveled down and their shop. In order to put a deposit on it to reserve it, I had to go to the dealership, which was a 2.5 hour car ride away. So I traveled down and test drove it. The steering wheel was out of alignment, the brakes shuddered at high speeds, and the car smelled strongly of paint thinner. Not knowing much about that, other than observation, I put the deposit on it and drove home. The salesman said that I had locked in the price, no matter the repairs needed. I had taken video of the undercarriage, and sure enough, clear liquid was dripping down. What else was wrong with it? I’m guessing there was an unreported accident. What kind of dealership allows a customer to test drive a vehicle with such problems as alignment and a fuel leak? More
