BUYER BEWARE! !! Bought a 2020 Toyota 86GT from Ira of Manchester in August. I wanted to pay cash for it, but they would not hold the car unless I financed, whic !! Bought a 2020 Toyota 86GT from Ira of Manchester in August. I wanted to pay cash for it, but they would not hold the car unless I financed, which will cost several hundred dollars extra to pay off. The car was delivered 3 weeks late due to service issues with requested preliminary repairs to: TPMS warning light on, rear seat back latches were broken, and the locks for the floor mats were broken. These were eventually repaired. Communication was solely in texts (which I saved), and I was never contacted by them unless I contacted them first to find out why the delay. Being couple hours away from them, I had to take 3 different days off from work to plan to pick it up only to have them cancel two of the times the night before. The car was supposed to be Toyota Certified Used Vehicle Gold which means it is in a specifically good condition (I never saw a completed inspection checklist document). Initial issues which caused it to fail MA inspection were: several lights out (both fenders, 1 reverse, and 1 plate), as well as A/C, airbag, and ABS codes in OBDII computer. Also, the seat heaters did not work in either seat, and USB plug was worn and shorting. I replaced all the failed bulbs, and then brought it to a local dealer for the other repairs. The local dealer also found that all the brake pads were less than 3mm and need replacement (definitely not qualifying for TCUV Warrantee which require a minimum >50% life left). Also, the front bumper was removed/replaced for repair and it was missing many attachment clips as well as the clear protective film (original online pictures show damage to one corner and protective film installed). It looked like it was literally painted, thrown on the car, and flopped around. The seat heater repairs involved new switches and heating elements in both seats (~$2200). Brakes pads and rotors will be another ~$1500. I feel that I was misled by the dealer in the sale of this car; it was not as advertised. I specifically bought this car because it was TCUV Gold certified - which means it is in a specifically good condition. There are more than 160+ items that are check and verified to be in good working order for it to qualify TCUV Gold and that's the condition I expected. The Ira dealership should have had to do all these repair before it was sold in order to advertise it to be certified TCUV Gold. They failed in providing a car that was in certified condition, which was what they advertised, yet they documented it as such. I won't be going back to Ira for anything, as I doubt they would make good on any of these aggravations. They took my money and got the car off the lot quickly, so they must be happy. This is my 9th Toyota vehicle, so I'm not new to Toyota quality, and what to expect when working with Toyota dealerships. Ira is one dealership I won't be buying anything from again. More
Took way to long, 5 hours waiting in area with very bad loud music. No personal communication about car before a text appears 2 hours 45 minutes later. It took another 1.5 hours before another service advisor came to check me out. There is no chance I would add the recommendations offered. I'd still be waiting there listening to bad loud music and not having access to even a soda to purchase. Not everyone drinks coffee. More
