Excellent experience My husband was driving a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 241,000 miles on it. It "gave up the ghost" in mid July (fortunately as he was starting his vacation). I researched quite a few cars for him and finally narrowed it down to the Kia Sportage and the Honda CR-V. We went into Island Kia and were met by our salesperson, Andrew Winslow, who showed us both the Sportage as well as the roomier Sorento, patiently answering all our questions. Surprisingly (to us at least) the larger Sorento made more sense and was a better deal. Andrew was extremely knowledgeable about these two models and I'm sure just as knowledgeable about the others. His enthusiasm and willingness to satisfy us was definitely a plus in our car buying experience. I would recommend Andrew to anyone! What a great asset to a fine dealership! From the moment we made our decision to the moment we drove off the lot, the process couldn't have been easier or more straightforward. I am very happy with my experience at Island Kia and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this dealership. On another note, as another reviewer stated, we were greeted warmly and enthusiastically by Nick, Carl and Anthony as soon as we walked through the door, but that warmth was present beforehand when we met the porter Derek on the lot as he was sprucing up the vehicles. He greeted us and directed us toward the entrance. I would be remiss if I didn't also thank John Morgan, the finance manager, who helped us get the best deal possible. Purchasing a Kia Optima I went into Island Kia in Staten Island NY. When I walked through the door I was greeted by more then one person . Right away he took me to the floor to show me the models that they have. He was very accommodating and answered all of my questions about the different models. I was able to make my decision with all the information that was provided to me.Joe R had called for the car so that my waiting time for the car was not that long. I would highly recommend Island Kia as well as Joe R as my salesperson. I am telling my friends about the good experience I had at the dealership and Joe R and how happy I am with my Kia Optima. Unfortunately wasted my time I went to this dealership to buy a new car and they where very pushy and didn't want to let me pick up the car the next day I found that very strange I went to this dealership to buy a new car and they where very pushy and didn't want to let me pick up the car the next day I found that very strange so I told them I would think it over and come back tomorrow the manager came over and told me the deal would be more for the car I wanted if I didn't take the car right there and now . I know that is not true and I was insulted that they would try to make me do something I don't want to do the manager kept trying to push me to take the car I finally got up and left the salesman called me twice right after I left with a change of tune assuming I would come back the next day I talk to a friend who referred me to another place and got me a better deal I would recommended anyone looking for a car not to go here!!!!!! I was subsequently contacted by Kerri-Lee Curci who was incredibly helpful, guided me to Island Kia and even emailed me an offer to install remote start at no charge as a further incentive (which I promptly printed and forgot to bring with me). That interest extended to follow-up calls and emails and continued offers of help should I ever need it. Once at Island Kia, I asked for Chris Bennet (whose name was provided by Kerri-Lee) and explained to him that I was interested in purchasing a vehicle but had a somewhat problematic credit score. He assured me that he would do his best to find suitable financing for me if it was at all possible and turned me over to Anthony Abbriano to walk me through the process. Mr. Abbriano was both professional and friendly and helped make my visit productive and pleasant. In the meantime, Mr. Bennett found for me the best possible financing, assumed the debt I carried on my trade-in and I left with a brand new Kia Soul. I cannot adequately express how professional, friendly and helpful the entire staff was from the beginning of this experience to even after the purchase. I must extend a special thank you, though, to Chris, Anthony and Keri-Lee who all treated me with respect and professionalism but, more importantly, not as just a customer but almost as a member of the family.
