Trading in my 2009 Jetta lease, I went to see about the new Jetta. Don't really like the car but the people at Staten Island VW were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Bought 2012 VW Tiguan on June 30th, buying experience was not bad. Everything went smooth and there weren't any surprises as far as I've noticed so far. 5 days later the air conditioning stopped working on t not bad. Brought to dealer in the morning and by the end of the day they told me it should be fixed. At end of day the service guy Eric calls and says their AC machine to diagnose problem doesn't work. Ok no problem, the next day end of day calls me and tells me they need to order a part, hosing apparently. But cannot tell me how long it will take for me to get it so I said I need a car in the meantime and they bring me to enterprise rental in the worst car that they cover. So instead of leaving my car at the dealer where they park them in the street anyway, I would rather take my car back and I'll bring it back when part comes in. Ok, called the following week, still no news. Then finally once I called corporate they call me and I brought the car in to fix. End of day, they call me and tell me they need something else now and they don't know what it is and supposedly they called me as soon as they encountered the problem and would update me again. They didn't call back to update and my car is still at the service. Very unprofessional people. The service people have no idea what they're doing and can be better suited for the sales positions. 2008 Eos sold as "Pre-Certified" from Open Road in NYC is now showing cracked finish/bondo work.
