Fraudulent upselling during annual inspection My car passed inspection but a "leaking front spool valve" was identified and a $680 + tax repair recommended. The other mechanic also cleaned and lubricated my rear calipers for $40 versus the $180 + tax quoted by Freed. This is particularly disheartening since I have been bringing my cars in for service for 20 years! More
