I’m not quick to write negative reviews, however, I just had the worst experience I’ve EVER had with a business today at this dealership – Janesville Kia. I called the dealership this morning to express my had the worst experience I’ve EVER had with a business today at this dealership – Janesville Kia. I called the dealership this morning to express my interest in a used 2013 AWD Kia Sportage with 57k miles that was advertised online. I spoke with a salesperson who advised me that the vehicle was still available and to come in to see it. 30 minutes later my daughter and I were at the dealership and first to see the vehicle. It was getting cleaned out in the shop, however, as it was a recent arrival. While waiting to see the vehicle with our sales rep, another customer walked into the showroom inquiring about the same vehicle. To my surprise, when the vehicle was finally pulled around outside, another salesperson took the other customers out to see it and test drive it before I had the chance to. My salesperson immediately expressed frustration with this, and I was told not to worry and that I’d have priority to purchase the car before the other potential customers who had arrived after I did. When the other customers returned with the car, my salesperson took us out to the vehicle and I was allowed to test drive it. While test driving the vehicle I was notified that the vehicle had sold and I was to return with the car. I returned, obviously frustrated with what was happening. I was met by a manager who apologized and said that he would honor the same price on another vehicle. After waiting another extended period of time, they drove a 2018 Chevy Equinox with 88k miles to the front of the dealership. We looked at the car and took it for a test drive. When we returned with that car, the same manager informed us that he looked over the numbers and that he would not be able to honor the sales price of the Kia like he had told us. The price was going to be more. I firmly believe that in a situation like this, a dealership should be willing to take a hit and not make as much money as what they’d have hoped if it comes down to them not sacrificing their integrity, morals and ethics. I really wonder why we were treated so unfairly? We wasted an entire day there only to be disappointed and lied to multiple times. I do want to say that it wasn’t my salesperson’s fault. My salesperson was just as shocked about what was unfolding as I was and told me so. I highly discourage anyone from doing business with this dealership based on my experience today. More
