Deceptive sales techniques! I have been in the market for a 2019 Honda Type R for 6 months. Dealer mark ups were significant some being upwards of 10000.00. I am understanding of I have been in the market for a 2019 Honda Type R for 6 months. Dealer mark ups were significant some being upwards of 10000.00. I am understanding of market conditions and if a dealer wants to make more profit so be it. In my search I came across an ad for a 2109 Type R in the color I wanted listed for 35400.00, I called the dealer and spoke with a salesperson and was told that would be the price. The next step was getting a trade in value for my car. I had been offered a wide range at different dealerships and explained that to the salesperson. I also explained I was afraid they would not be able to offer me what I was expecting. The dealership called several times over the next two weeks and at times was quite aggressive. I was told that it would be worth it for the 1 hour 15 minute drive. The salesperson responded that he owned rental property where I was and it was no big deal. "What's the worst thing if we don't make a deal I'll buy a tank of gas" I finally decided to give it a shot and drove down. We met and the first thing he tells me is that I can't test drive because there were a lot of people who just wanted to drive the Type R. I said I was already familiar with the way it drove and wanted to firm up the numbers. He came back with some of the highest numbers I had seen so far. 52,000 minus there discount brought it down to approximately 39000 before fees. Again that's not far off what market conditions are but they were no where near the verbal communications that took place. They also offered me about 4500 below what most dealers offered me for my trade. Needless to say we were off by a lot. I said it was a waste of my time and I'll take my keys back. He told me it was a waste of both of our time and told me I would never get the car for that low. I again asked for my keys and he actually offered to bet me 500.00 dollars that I would not be able to get the Type R for that price. Got my keys and said thanks and went on my way. The total lack of respect from him was befuddling. He did not speak in a loud or offending manner it was just the way he tried to make me feel like his job of selling the car was more important than my being the customer. More

This is the third vehicle I have purchased from Jenkins with Mike as my salesman. I would also like to comment on Michael Coelho (Business Mgr). We had some concerns that had to be handled. This man was the best. He explained in detail the warranties that we purchased. He also organized all of our paperwork. This man is also a great asset to Jenkins. More
