We live in Valrico so this is a distance to travel . Due to COVID I have not been back until this past Wednesday as I had a Nissan recall for my ABS system to be checked. I have always trusted Jenkins Nissan of Lakeland to take good care of me and my car.I called made an appointment for this recall service and was told it may take 4- 4 1-2 hrs. At no time was I told details of the inspection needed to assess my car and that the part would have to be ordered per vin number. All this is acceptable if explained but never was . I received a call stating call me back by Gil the service rep. I had to call 4 times waiting on hold 10-20minutes and when someone said they would locate him I was on hold 35 minutes . Gil was very cavalier about my wait time and acted like it was no big deal for them to order the part and I would have to be scheduled again to fix the recall issue. He stated my wait was because he had to fly around the shop to put out fires . He should have explained this to me when I dropped the car off about returning and been more polite when speaking with me. As a result I will never return to this Jenkins Nissan. I had to ask for a manager to get the real explanation of how this appointment should have gone . There was a lot of talking in circles . You may not really care but this type of interaction is poor business . More
I dropped my car off the night before my scheduled appointment, which was set two weeks out because there was no availability. They did not start looking at my car until days later. When my service guy was on vacation my car was not looked at or touched. Every week I was promised my car by that weekend. Three weeks later my car was still there. They claimed they didn’t have the part, yet the tracking number showed the part was delivered and signed for days before they claimed it was received. I got my car back and it’s making a weird noise. I called advising my car was making noise. Four days later I am still waiting on a call back for them to check out my car. I ultimately ended up having to pay for a rental car out of pocket because they took so long to fix my car that my warranty no longer covered the rental. I didn’t get an apology or an offer to use one of their cars to avoid this extra expense. Oh and don’t try calling to check on your car… on one occasion the put me on hold for over an hour. I had to call using another phone (while still on hold) and they finally answered the newer line 20 min later but I was still on hold on the first line. I called a different time and was on hold for over 30 min. I had to hang up, call again and ask directly for a manager and express my frustration to get someone on the line. When they have you on hold, they don’t check on you or apologize, they just pick up and place you on hold again without saying a word. They were my go-to Nissan service dealership until this experience. More
I had one of my best experiences. I have come to Jenkins since I purchased my 2016 Rogue and this time has been one the visits I can say they went over the top. I waited over 2 hours for my oil change and I had arrived 10 minutes early for my SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. What's the point in scheduling an appointment if they were taking cars that were just showing up witho 10 minutes early for my SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. What's the point in scheduling an appointment if they were taking cars that were just showing up without appointments and I had to wait that long. I've never had to wait this long for a basic oil change. The department was prepping to close and I was still waiting for my car. Will really re-consider coming back if this is the norm. More
