Poor Overall Sales Performance Left from Pa. at 2:30p.m this past Saturday (5/6/15) and drove approximately 1.5 hours to Jenkins Subaru to look at a Special Edition 2015 Crosst Left from Pa. at 2:30p.m this past Saturday (5/6/15) and drove approximately 1.5 hours to Jenkins Subaru to look at a Special Edition 2015 Crosstrek XV for my wife Arrived at the dealership a little after 4pm. (They close at 5). Went to the showroom to speak with Michael Tillman whom I had spoken to earlier in the day. Found him to be a nice friendly young man, and I told him I dropped my wife off at the end of their lot to look at the vehicle, but he never offered to go meet her at the car with the keys, offer to open it, and even show it to her, let alone let her test drive it.? Not sure what that was all about. Told him we were interested in trading our leased 2012 Nissan Rogue, so he immediately wanted my keys to get some numbers on my vehicle. Came back with the figures 10-20 minutes later and gave the numbers to us, showing us the price to purchase the Crosstrek with, and without a trade (again, told him we were specifically looking at trading). I told him the numbers he gave us on my trade were poor, but he never offered to even discuss the numbers further, or ask what he could do to sell us this car, or where I would like to be on my payment etc.... as most GOOD dealers usually do. Just let us get up and walk out!!!!!! Truthfully, I don't think Michael, or the dealership had any intention or interest in selling us the vehicle. Just did us a favor of giving us some numbers to appease us. Maybe to late in the day for them and didn't want to be there past 5, or maybe due to the vehicle being a "special edition" vehicle and them wanting to get full sticker price for it. Not really sure what the issue was ????? Whatever the case may be, I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. Not being smart, but I personally have purchased and owned 38 cars since I was 18 yrs old, (presently 59 now) and since that time have never been in a dealership that operated in this fashion. MOST dealerships at least try or want to work with you in some way. Logically thinking, you would think that since I traveled 1.5 hours from PA to look at this car. they would think that my intentions would be to leave that day with that vehicle, but evidently they didn't care one way or another. They had no idea that my checkbook was in my back pocket, and should they "have tried a little harder" to work with us on my trade, I probably would have left with that vehicle that afternoon, as this was the vehicle my wife truly wanted. The only reason I am giving them 1 star is because Michael was a nice enough young man, but otherwise, the overall performance of this sales and management staff was poor. I certainly learned my lesson (after a lot of gas wasted), that no matter how bad I or my wife want a car or SUV, I will stay in Pa. and continue to shop close to home to purchase it. I'm not sure, but maybe if your from out-of-state and get to this dealer on a Saturday BEFORE 4pm, things will turn out different and they might actually show you the car your interested in buying. More

They gave me a fair amount for my trade and for my new car. I will be back in the future to buy my third car from them. I would highly recommend going to Jenkins!!!!! More

Difficult to schedule for routine maintenance I purchased my Subaru Outback in 2013, after carefully checking the reviews on the service department of several dealerships, I chose Jenkins Subaru ( I purchased my Subaru Outback in 2013, after carefully checking the reviews on the service department of several dealerships, I chose Jenkins Subaru (Larry Myers at the time) it was the best. I had very good experiences up until last year. I started having difficulty scheduling appointments for routine maintenance that were convenient for me. I have to travel over 50 miles and I work irregular hours. The wait time was always a week or more, and then when I did have an appointment for a routine oil change I waited over two hours in the service department lounge. Now trying to schedule to have my car inspected (free state inspections, one of the selling features) they can't work me in again for a week! I spoke with the manager and all I heard were excuses. When I said I'd have to go else where for my inspection, he sounded as if he didn't care. Very poor customer service, I will not be dealing with Jenkins again and will discourage others to do so as well. More

I live in NYS and was passing through when the timing belt and engine went on my vehicle, and my vehicle was towed here. Special thanks to Travis Johnson & Patrick Campbell for all they did to get me back on the road so I could head back home, including transferring my belongings to my new car. There was no pressure to buy a vehicle, even though they knew I needed to either purchase or rent a vehicle to get back home. More
