We were told it was and we scheduled an appointment for 1pm to go and see it. We drove 45 minutes to get to the dealership and when we arrived we were told the car was sold!!! The salesman, Leland Sims, was very nice and apologetic but when the manager came over he explained to us that the call Center that we talked to was not linked to them and did “not know what was going on”. Not only was he not apologetic, but he acted like it was no big deal that we had driven down there and claimed there was no way to fix this problem. I have bought a truck from Jim Ellis before and didn’t have problems but this experience made me realize I should go somewhere else for this purchase. Maybe they will want to work harder for my money!!! More

The first time I brought it in, on Friday 9.13 and took off work to do so) for the engine icon being on and stalling a few times. We (my darling Bride, and I) waited for at least 6 hours for a diagnostic check to be performed. After that was completed, I was told the problem was solved (battery and oil cap seal issues) and we could be on my way. I happily paid the bill and drove off the lot with a smile on my face. But that smile was turned upside down, when the following day (Saturday) the same thing happened. Engine icon and stalling. Well as you might realize I was not happy. So I called and was told to bring my Equinox back in. We arrived (about) 3:30pm and the closing was to occur at 4. I will not go into much detail, but I was given a loaner, since I had no way of getting home or to work on Monday. This loaner happened to be a 2019 Chevy Silverado! One of the biggest vehicles I had ever seen. Anyway, since my wife and me are not physical giants, we almost needed a forklift to get in and a parachute to get out. And, I will admit I was a bit nervous driving a vehicle this BIG since I was unsure of the width and didn't want to knock cars, nor trees out of my way as I drove. Edit: Anyway, I made it safely home and to work on Monday. And then lo and behold, I received a call and was told my Equinox was ready to go home. The problem was discovered ( I'm still unsure what it was) and I could come pick it up. And with no additional charges. HURRAH! Well, it's now Tuesday and so far, no problems. But I would like to add that during this experience, everyone was great and friendly. And I understand that "things" happen, so even though I was disturbed I still never lost faith in the Jim Ellis Service Department. And that is the reason I will continue to go there for service. We also have a 2005 Saturn VUE that is having (I believe) transmission problems. And in time we will bring it in to Jim Ellis for servicing as well. Why? Because they're all "swell" and we trust them. Thanks bunches, Me, Lou Boviero More

The service provider gave no solid update on the car, never answered his phone, and charged an absurd service fee for nothing. This year the car had a check engine light again. The employee said the issue was a solenoid valve that would cost 300+ Dollars. 2 Days after picking up the car, the check engine light goes on again. The dealer then says that this is a result of the 'other' code on the diagnostic. He investigates and then charges me a 160+ fee for a software patch. While he's going through what I'm looking to get serviced he tries and upset on a bunch of other things by saying 'your tires look a little worn' Interesting enough, after I get my car back, all of my tire gauges start firing off. This dealership is a complete scam. They have no interest in servicing the employees and are only interested in charging them for as much as they can. I had a tire guard that I wanted replaced, and they said it would require a new bumper cover for a 1000+dollars to replace. I looked up the part. Even at full retail, the replacement part is only 400-500 dollars. Which means that they were trying to charge 500 dollars to take a bunch of screws off and replace the the cover. (I looked up how to do it myself and consulted with a third party body shop) Also they said that the 1000+ dollars wouldn't include the paint job. Absolute rip off. Needless to say, I will NEVER go here. Not only that, because of this experience, I will never purchase another GM car again. This should not be how car servicing works, and there is no excuse for this type of Malintended service. More

Not the best communication While the service was okay, the overall lack of communication made this a not so pleasant experience. I made an appointment for my car to have general service. But a few days before the appointment I started having other issues with my car. I told the service guy when I brought it in for my appointment. I was then told I should have called ahead of time because now they have to take it to two different departments (one for general maintenance and one for service) Thats fine, I ask them how long it will take. He says he’ll have to check. I leave my car with them and head out. Eight hours later I get a phone call telling me they’ve diagnosed the problem but now it’s after business hours and I can either leave my car with them so they can fix it or go pick it up. I decide to leave my car (although I should have been called earlier in this process to make that decision) the next day was Saturday. I called twice to get an update on the car and was told an advisor would call me back. Didn’t happen. I finally just went to the service department an hour before it closed and my car was done- just sitting there and no one bothered to call and tell me, which means if I hadn’t gone by my car would have been sitting there until Monday. They did a good job fixing the issue (although it was more expensive than other dealerships) but the communication is unsatisfactory. More
