Excellent customer service! I took my vehicle in to get serviced and Vohvon, my Service Advisor was absolutely the best! Our service advisor was very nice, I just think maybe the service department is short staffed. Each time I called, I was transferred to voicemail. My car was supposed to be ready on Wednesday but didn’t ge service department is short staffed. Each time I called, I was transferred to voicemail. I have got my car serviced at this location before and had excellent results (Mark K. was my advisor he's the best!). I had high hopes coming here for this simple service. However, this particular visit w had excellent results (Mark K. was my advisor he's the best!). I had high hopes coming here for this simple service. However, this particular visit was a complete disaster. I had come in for a routine oil change. They recommended services to me: new spark plugs and auto throttle body cleaning. I just had all those services done late Dec 2023 at this location. Which lets me know that no one bothered to check the service history on my car. I got my oil changed and that's when everything went bad. Car seemed fine on my drive home and not even 10 miles down the road it completely shuts off in the middle of traffic. I was able to pull over at a gas station. I contacted Kris (My advisor) and apprise him of my situation. He told me to bring it back to the dealership. After several attempts to start my car back up it finally works. And I slowly make it back to the dealership (car did shut off again at a light but was able to get it going again). Back at the dealership, they run a diagnostic on my car and apparently the battery is dead. Which was very odd because I had no issues with my battery prior to the visit. I get a battery replacement and a corrosion cleaning (or so I thought I had the cleaning service done, more on that later) was also performed on my vehicle. It took about 30 minutes, so I waited. Leave the dealership again not another ten or so miles my car completely loses power and shuts off. This time on an incline going downhill I manage to coast my car into a liquor store parking lot. I call Kris and let him know that I was having the car towed back to the dealership. When I get there Kris informs me that my car would need to be seen by the "Master Mechanic", and that they would need to keep it for a while. I agree and leave my car there this was May 2, 2024. I did not get my car back until May 15, 2024. The issue was the powertrain control module. And the Master Mechanic said there was still corrosion on my battery, which was odd to me because I paid for a service to have it cleaned. I got my car and it was working again and not stopping which I was relieved. I understand that repair times vary and no one can guarantee perfect results in any maintenance service. However there was a lot of inconvenience on my end here. A. My car was working fine before the oil change, no stopping issues. B. I paid for a new battery and corrosion cleaning. A battery I did not need and a cleaning that did not take place or was not done to satisfactory. The money I spent on the battery could have been allocated for the real issue of the PCM. Kris was made aware of the cleaning issue and he did give me a slight discount on the repair. C. I had to rent a car at more cost to me. More money I am spending, while I await another pending repair charge. D. Now we have an issue of trust and reliability. I went to Jim Ellis Kia to get my oil changed. I could have gone anywhere to have that service done, but I choose here. If I had known this would be such an ordeal I would have gone somewhere else. My car stopped on me twice! I left your dealership two times after getting what I believed to be top service and broke down on both occasions. All of this was in the SAME day I came for a simple oil change. How did this slip pass any of the techs there? Do you understand how dangerous it is to stop in the middle of traffic, to completely lose power while on the road. My anxiety was at an all-time high. I could have lost my life because of this. I don't think I will ever come back to this location for any services. Jim Ellis Kia has lost my trust. Initially I wasn't going to write any reviews because I wanted to just forget about this nightmare. I am not one to complain I'm quite passive. But I kept getting messages in my email to respond/give a review. So that is what I am doing. Hopefully this does not happen to anyone else. More
