Poor communication and follow up That was a week and a half ago. Our Kia experience with service has been horrible so we bought a new Ford Explorer. I have had to have the engine replaced twice and been without a car for months with both those experiences and 6 weeks this time just to be told that Kia dealers don’t honor each other’s warranty. This is a business model I never want to be associated with again. The associates were respectful but did not have timely follow up on promised expectations. More

I felt ignored, my concerns were not only left unanswered, but completely unaddressed. There was work done on the car by Mavis and Tires Plus (Bridgestone) that left me extremely disappointed, and unanswered, but completely unaddressed. There was work done on the car by Mavis and Tires Plus (Bridgestone) that left me extremely disappointed, and i was asking for whoever was looking over my car to overwrite the work these two companies performed. I wanted to upgrade suspension and whatever parts were being replaced on my car, but I was never contacted concerning this. I even left messages with the manager of the service department about several things and never heard back from him. I asked about a loaner car/reimbursement for a rental car and was told they didn’t have any loaners/just go rent a car and you will get your money back. In reality, I have to submit my receipts for the rental cars to Kia, not the dealerships, and this request could be denied. Other problem is that all of then rental companies I spoke with would not honor the deal insurance companies offer to clients because they said that car companies do not pay their bills, and since this was a recall issue/class action settlement, I could not use my auto insurance coverage to rent a vehicle, and I could not put my car in “storage mode” because it was at a car lot getting diagnosed. By the way, I had my car towed to this dealership in mid-March, told that my car would be inspected on the 29th of March, but I know it was several weeks after that date. So I spent about 5weeks before having it towed to Kia of Kennessaw trying to figure out if it was anything besides a seized up engine that was causing my car not to start, but could not get anyone over here to help diagnose my car, and for the 2 years I have had my Kia, I have read nightmare stories about many Kia owners’ experiences and how their claims were denied for this or that reason, so I was very weary to take it to any Kia dealership, period. So once Meineke told me the camshaft wouldn’t turn, I knew I had to contact Kia, so I called and called trying to find one that wouldn’t take 2-3 months to approve and repair. So when I was told March 29 and then 2-3 weeks after to have my car returned, i jumped at the opportunity. Then, once I was told they hadn’t looked at it yet and that it would be several more weeks, I felt discouraged because i could not find a car rental company who would rent me a car for anywhere close to the $40 allowance per the class action agreement. So I ended up getting a friend’s car out of a tow yard after paying off a loan to get the title back ($350), over $1,000 to the wrecking yard, tax, tag, and title plus ad .valorem was about $500, and I won’t include how much I paid my friend for the actual car, but because of the number of cars getting engines replaced, and with the rental car places charging me full price, and only being able to afford a rental car for two weeks (+$1,000), I had to assume that my car was not going to be approved for the engine replacement, so i had an opportunity to get my friend’s car back rather than have it go to auction, and I did that rather than take my chances on Kia approving the engine replacement, which again from the Kia optima forum, I read horror stories about customers’ experiences with certain dealerships as well as Kia not honoring the settlement, so I was very pessimistic and did not want to assume my car would be approved for replacement. I will explain that as best as I can to the Corporate office of Kia when I submit paperwork with my request for reimbursement. God Bless… More
Jim Ellis had my car for over a month to fix the air conditioner, which was blowing hot air. The day I finally picked it up, the air conditioner was not working. So I took my car to my mechanic and in conditioner, which was blowing hot air. The day I finally picked it up, the air conditioner was not working. So I took my car to my mechanic and in 3 days the diagnosis, part ordering, and part replacement were successfully completed. Although Jim Ellis fixed a couple things, they should have been able to determine the cause of my air conditioner problems. A. Camp More
There is nothing I can say good about my experience and I will make it a point of telling anyone looking for the car to not use a Jim Ellis dealership. . If I have called repeatedly I have to text messages will make it a point of telling anyone looking for the car to not use a Jim Ellis dealership. . If I have called repeatedly I have to text messages. I have sent emails I've been hung up on when I asked for a manager To take someone's car on an appointment and then tell him you aren't going to work out of 7.- 10 days and three and a half weeks later still not touched it. Considering how many times I tried in touch with someone. I expect this total waste of my time also, More
