Unqualified, untrained service technicians A week of Nov 12 I brought my car in for routine service; I was planning on driving to my son's home for Thanksgiving day. I came back 4 times becau A week of Nov 12 I brought my car in for routine service; I was planning on driving to my son's home for Thanksgiving day. I came back 4 times because the engine light kept coming on. The last time I returned was November 21 at which time they "took it across the street" for evaluation and was told that a sensor needed to be replaced ($$$). I had to cancel my trip so my son spent Thanksgiving alone. I had a previous bad service experience "across the street" and received a bill of over $500 which was unexpected. I feel your service department is too focused on additional profit opportunity to the detriment of customer service. I won't be back. I don't trust you. More
Brake light out Had a brake light unexpectedly go out and because we were taking a long trip for the holiday weekend, had to get it fixed. Went in, and the young man Had a brake light unexpectedly go out and because we were taking a long trip for the holiday weekend, had to get it fixed. Went in, and the young man who checked me in said he'd take care of it rather than wait a couple hours on someone in a service bay being available. So he drove my car into the service center garage, offered us a seat in the customer lounge area and said it wouldn't be much more than 30 minutes. He then went back to get the bulb himself, and changed it for me. Probably waited about 20 minutes or so. Then there was no charge because it was still under warranty. Appreciate the great customer service provided by Machens staff not only this time but in the past as well. Thank you! More
