AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU NEED REPAIRS OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY So I went to this place for a simple battery check and possible replacement, not expecting to pay more than $200 for my 3 year old Mustang. I made my appointment online and opted to wait in person. Thought it would be a simple in-and-out operation. Boy was I WRONG. Jonathan Rico was my consultant, and although he was soft-spoken and nice, he was extremely bad at communicating what he believed needed to be done to my car and for what price. Initially he told me my battery was cracked and leaking. Based on this, I ok'ed a new battery. He then came out to the waiting area to tell me that the guy working at the time didn't know how to deal with the corrosion of the terminals, & that it would need to stay overnight. I didn't want to leave my car overnight bc that wasn't the initial plan when I made the appointment. But after being told that my car would be worked on first thing the next morning, I begrudgingly agreed to the Uber service that was set up to take me home. While waiting on the service, Jonathan then came back out to the waiting area and told me that they found a second mechanic to help the first take care of the corrosion, so he cancelled the Uber, and I ok'ed waiting again. Jonathan then came back out a third time to tell/show me that the corrosion issue was so bad that it was possible the battery cables would need replacing. Mind you, my car is only 3 years old, and I bought it brand new from this very dealership. He said that the entire battery/battery cable replacement would take me up to the $500 range, but that he would "try to save the cables" if possible. By this time, it was about 7pm, and my appt. was for 4 earlier that afternoon, so this entire process to take me back and forth about pricing and work for a car that was barely 3 years old, all for a simple battery replacement was taking over 3 hours. Jonathan said that I'd have to leave the car overnight for the extra time it would take them to fix everything. I was tired, moderately irritated, but hopeful in the end that the job would be done well under $500, bc battery cable replacement on a 3 year old car didn't jive with much of a ring of truth to me. I took an Uber home that night. The next morning, I received a text @7am stating that Jeffro would be working on my car. I immediately texted both that same number & Johnathan's # back to tell them that I could not afford $500 worth of work for a battery/battery cable replacement, and that if I couldn't get my battery and battery cable ENDS replaced, that I would be taking it to get elsewhere another opinion. No response. Next contact was about an hour later--Jonathan called back to say that they were able to "save the battery cables" and that they could move forward. No price quoted. He called back later to say that my car was ready for pick up and that he'd be sending an Uber to bring me back. When I arrived, I got a quote for nearly $430. $430 FOR A BATTERY REPLACEMENT. Labor was over $200, more than the cost of the actual car battery! When I asked Jonathan about the bill and why it was so much, he was immediately defensive--stating that the night before, $500 wasn't including the cable replacement; it was just for the battery and cable ends. He said for a cable replacement, it would be $1-2,000. $2000 for a CABLE??? REALLY??? & what's worse--he had the nerve to say that the mistake was on my part for "mishearing" what he said the night before about pricing. When I let him know the price he mentioned last night was nowhere near the THOUSANDS he said in our conversation about the cable replacement, he said that after consulting a professional about the price, that's what he was told. I told him that meant he flat out lied to me about the pricing, and he once again told me that I just misheard him. Once more, there were big nasty fingerprints all over my glass and door panels, the bolts and red positive battery terminal cover were missing, and my remote start function no longer worked. I had to go back to someone more than once about these issues AFTER I was told my car was ready. The mechanics here truly don't give a xxxx about doing a clean, complete job, nor do the consultants care about a meeting of the minds of both the consultant and the customer. I thought I could trust this place considering the other relatively good reviews & because I figured customer loyalty meant something, but I couldn't be more wrong. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR FOR REPAIRS HERE IF THOSE REPAIRS ARE NOT COVERED BY A WARRANTY. I will NEVER take my car back to Joe Myers Ford dealership EVER again, nor will I ever purchase a car from this place ever again. More
