If I could give them a zero I would. Worst car buying experience in 55 years of buying cars. Mislead me every step of the way. They advertised the price of the car I was interested in on Edmunds and True experience in 55 years of buying cars. Mislead me every step of the way. They advertised the price of the car I was interested in on Edmunds and Truecar. I called to confirm if the car was still available and if that was the price. They sent me a "digital brochure" confirming that price as their "internet price", discounted from their much higher MSRP price which included "dealer installed options". When it came down to crunch time the salesperson told me they couldn't sell me the car for the "internet price"(also the price shown on Edmunds and Truecar) and the real price was $2185.00 more than their internet price. A total and complete sham; and a complete waste of two hours of my time, not to mention theirs. They told me I didn't read some mystery fine print about "dealer installed options". Those were the very same options that were in the original MSRP that they were discounting down to the "internet price". They were friendly enough but were con artists. Don't believe any "internet price" they send you. It's likely bogus! More
I was in need of a used, inexpensive car. My salesman was excellent in taking me to a car that I later purchased. His taking me across the lot to a car I hadn’t seen was remarkable. Service Department has horrible customer service from the manager, down. I have a 2016 Tacoma that I bought there and have had regularly serviced there since I bought it. I'd bought the pre-paid service and manager, down. I have a 2016 Tacoma that I bought there and have had regularly serviced there since I bought it. I'd bought the pre-paid service and extended service, as well as the extended warranty. Prior to this year I'd had stellar service, so I don't know what happened, but they've really gone downhill. I called my advisor, Freddy Gonzalez twice and left two voicemails over a period of two days because my stereo kept resetting. Neither call was replied to. I also called the manager/director, Travis Cupples, twice, and he didn't respond either. I took my truck in there and had a face to face with Mr. Cupples, and he assured me that he'd find out what happened and get back to me. He had someone call me and tell me that Freddy was off until Tuesday but he'd talk to him and call me back on Tuesday, and again...no response, and it's been weeks. I see the poor customer service is starting at the top and trickling down. I used to pay the expensive prices to have the dealership work on my truck but I will never go back to Kearny Mesa Toyota Service Department. As for my stereo, they said if I wanted it to work right, I have to pay $69(I forgot actual price) if I wanted it to work right to get the update. I'd had my truck serviced every 5,000 miles there since I bought it and they never once told me about the stereo update that came out in 2017 and was posted free on the Toyota website. They never said a word until it was out of standard warranty and my service contract expired. Shady people, shady business practices. More
