Just a word of warning! !! To those who might be as ignorant as I was!! Do not buy anything other than a ford if your going to a ford dealership!! We went to Ken Garff Ford t !! We went to Ken Garff Ford to look at some explorers before deciding whether we wanted to buy a kia telluride. While test driving a few explorers we noticed a Kia Telluride on the lot so we inquired about it. Turns out it was a brand new 2022 with only 240 miles on it. It had everything we wanted without having to wait for a special order. Unfortunately this is where ignorance wasn't bliss. We drove the Kia and decided to purchase it under the premise that it would have the original 10 year 100,000 mile factory warranty. Exact words of our salesman Andrew Barnet. imagine our surprise when we were signing documents and was told that it only had a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty as it had two previous owners, this was confusing and frustrating as it only had 240 miles on it. Apparently dealerships are considered owners and it had been shipped to the previous owners which is why the miles were low. So under the pressure of the moment we were faced with the decision of purchasing the after market warranty which was an additional $3000 dollars we weren't expecting to spend. All Andrew could say was oops, sorry!!! To top it off Ken Garff Ford was neglectful in their certification of the vehicle by sending the car home with us without windshield wiper fluid. All though minor, it leads one to wonder what else they miss in the frenzy of selling vehicles for the almighty dollar. Whomever preps the car before taking it home also thought it would be a good idea to put the wrong kind of screws in for their license plate holder which almost ruined the machined threads that are inside the rear of the vehicle that need machined matching threaded bolts to fasten the license plate on. Ken Garff Ford has shown that they truly care about their customers. I’ve had 2 great experiences, one with sales and one with service. I used to go to LHM but when my lease was expiring last year and I want customers. I’ve had 2 great experiences, one with sales and one with service. I used to go to LHM but when my lease was expiring last year and I wanted to purchase the vehicle LHM gave me the run around for days. I realize they don’t get much for facilitating a lease buyout and it was evident no one wanted to waste their time with me. One call to Ken Garff and they said come on in. No hassle and they were more than happy to help. This week the Phasers went out in my vehicle. Apparently a pretty common thing for my vehicle but VERY expensive repair. They could see my stress and were so kind in doing what they could to help me find some kind of program or campaign that could help. Turns out we had an extended warranty and it got covered. I realize they didn’t necessarily give me anything but I felt the sincerity in their desire to help me. Their service drive was extremely busy but when I walked in I was greeted immediately with a genuine smile and directed where to go to get checked in. They were well staffed so I could be helped right away. You know when you enter a busy establishment and the employees are eager to help or if you are a bother. Every single employee I interact with here was genuinely happy to help me. I will never buy from or take my cars anywhere else. It’s not the biggest Ford store in the valley but these guys got it right and I so appreciate how I’ve been treated here. More
I made an appointment, got there and the information given was incorrect. They made up for it by expediting what I needed to avoid multiple trips. So they performed well at the end. The salesman was easy to work with and was able to get the paperwork prepared quickly in conjunction with the finance folks. However, our brand new Transit failed on us the second day of driving and neede the paperwork prepared quickly in conjunction with the finance folks. However, our brand new Transit failed on us the second day of driving and needed to have the solenoid pack replaced. We were with a rental truck for 6 weeks without any updates from the service department. Every time I called in, following the 3-4 weeks they had originally quoted us, I was told that the service rep wasn't working that day, or wasn't available. When I left messages either on the voice mail I was sent to, or with a live person, my calls were not returned. I was told once that a service manager would get back to me, but they never did. More
There are times in life you are happy you are on the other side of the experience. 48 days my car was out of service. A newer car (32k miles) water pump went out, manufacturer defect. Cannot tell you the amount of lies that came out of the dealers mouth but 2 weeks ago I was fed-up. Zero offer of a loaner car, reimbursement for a rental etc. Another dealer ordered me the part and I couriered it to my dealer to be told they "couldn't" use the factory sealed part cause it was "my part". The "jokes" continue but Friday I was able to get my fixed car back. Facinating a customer can get something done in 2 weeks a dealer is unable to do in 6 weeks. Ford Young in Ogden will never have my business again and I would advocate you to takes yours elsewhere. SHOUT OUT to Ken Garff in Amercian Fork for being so amazingly helpful and kind. You have a new customer for life. More
