This is the second time we have purchased a Jeep from Shuman. We bought both of our Jeeps from Sarge Roberts. We have been very happy with our purchases. They had a very good selection of cars for us to Shuman. We bought both of our Jeeps from Sarge Roberts. We have been very happy with our purchases. We did visit several dealerships that are closer to our home and we feel that the cars in the used car section were not cleaned as well as the cars at Shuman. Great experience with Associate Salesperson ... Awful Experience with Ownership/Management team. We live in Cincinnati, OH and have been looking for a car for some time now (~9 months). We found a BMW Experience with Ownership/Management team. We live in Cincinnati, OH and have been looking for a car for some time now (~9 months). We found a BMW X5 that was priced very reasonably at Shuman Jeep, in their used car division. After calling several times and discussing the car with Ryan Edwards (Sales Associate), we decided that car met all of our wants and needs and that we needed to make the 4.5 hour trip to see the car and potentially finalize the deal (we also were impressed that they were considered Dealer of the Year, through Dealer Rater - hence we thought this rating would ensure a great experience). After the 4.5 hour drive on a Saturday, we looked at the car and it drove beautifully, however there were some cosmetic defects that I wanted to have touched up prior to finalizing a deal (minor scratches, larger wheel scrapes, and dried wax on the bumper/wheel covers). We told Ryan that we were definitely interested in the car, and asked if these items could be fixed. He responded by saying he needed to talk to one of his managers and would get back to us on Monday. (By the way, after our 4.5 hour drive to Michigan from Cincinnati - I was neither introduced nor approached by a manager, only communication was from Ryan). On Monday, Ryan sends us a note that he is discussing the fixes we asked for with his manager, but they would not be able to commit to them, until they had a service tech look at them on Friday - so, at this point we are in a holding pattern (Again, no communication from management team thanking us for being patient, however Ryan did thank us and assured us he was working the situation). When Friday comes, we are told that they can do the fixes, and we send a note agreeing to purchase the car once we see the final pictures of the fixes. The pictures come in on Friday and we send a note back saying we are happy and would like to move forward with the car (At this point, still haven't been contacted by the Management team). Also, we begin the process on our side to get approved for financing, so we can pick up the car on Monday. Then Friday afternoon, we are told that the Management team has accepted a deposit on the car from another buyer, and we may not be able to purchase the car now (Ryan communicates this message, and that he is going back an forth with the Management team to see if there are any potential options). We communicate with Ryan remotely on Saturday (again, never a manager - even in the midst of this ordeal), and at the end of Saturday we are told that the Management team is going to honor the other buyer (I understand that a deposit was put down on the car, but I don't understand the communication break down across the organization). Ryan did continue to communicate with us and apologize for the situation, with I really appreciated. I also discussed with him my disappointment in the lack of communication with me from the management team. In the end, I was never approached, called, emailed, or communicated to in any way from a member of this management team, even when I have expressed my disappointment with them numerous times. So, my rating above does not reflect Ryan's performance, as I was really happy with him. And, I expect he, along with other sales associates are the reason why Shuman Jeep is a top rating customer service dealer on Dealer Rater. However, I put my rating in as a response to the Customer Service I received from the Management team, which was non-existent. The only reason the ratings aren't all 1's (on Customer Service, Quality of Work, Friendliness, and Overall Experience) is because of Ryan's responsiveness and customer service. I would be aware of working with this dealer and their management team. From my experience, their associates deliver good service, however the management team is definitely lacking this attribute. WE Inquired online about the Dodge caravan as well as the Costco discount and someone called us back immediately. The next day I went in to test drive the vehicle and was given a very good price w the disco Costco discount and someone called us back immediately. We never felt pressured and after comparing prices to other dealerships we felt this dealership was the fairest. We highly recommend this dealership as well as our salesperson.
