My experience with LaFontaine Walled Lake has been a nightmare from the start. I purchased my vehicle end of June 2023. I had an amazing saleswoman and salesman, Tim and Rayna, who picked out a wonderfu nightmare from the start. I purchased my vehicle end of June 2023. I had an amazing saleswoman and salesman, Tim and Rayna, who picked out a wonderful vehicle for me. They made the process easy and went above and beyond with assisting me. Two weeks into owning this vehicle, driving on the freeway, my tire came off. I pulled into a Belle Tire and the associate told me that my lug nuts were not tightened properly when the dealership replaced my brakes and they had eroded Into my tire. The sales manager, Bryce, refused to return and or answer my phone calls and they left me stranded playing phone tag for 5 hours until I had the car towed myself to the dealership to be looked at myself. When I arrived Ryan, a very nice service associate, assisted me and personally took me to the GM, Jon. Jon was unaware of my situation which made me extremely disappointed because it showed Bryce didn’t even care to ask about my situation. Jon is great at his job and within 10 minutes he had looked at my vehicle, ordered the parts, and got me in a rental. The dealership covered a $3000 repair, as they should, since it was a result of their negligence. Fast forward to now, November 2023, I take my vehicle in for its complimentary oil change. It takes over 2 hours, I get a 19 second video of my transmission having an oil leak which was never addressed on my paper work or verbally, and once I drove it off the lot, my hood popped up because it wasn’t even closed all the way. This was on a Friday. The following weekend, my vehicle starts acting up and my car is having trouble turning left and is making a terrible rubbing/ squeaking sound. I call the following Monday, I make an appointment for the next day, and I drop it off at my appointment time, 7:45am. It has now been a whole day, they are almost closed, and I have not received one phone call or update on the status of vehicle. I have called and been sent to voicemail, have only reached a real person once, and I think it’s very disrespectful that I can’t even get a hold of the establishment to just get confirmation that they plan to keep it longer. Obviously it is an inconvenience to be without a vehicle but it’s very frustrating that I can’t even get a curtesy phone call to let me know if they even looked at my vehicle so I can at least make arrangements in the meantime as this is my only form of transportation and I do not live near any family or friends to assist me so I am relying on Ubers. I have consistently had issues with communication and the service of my vehicle, never the car itself. When they say you are apart of the family, it’s almost like a slap in the face because I had been ignored, disrespected, and they have shown that they do not care about you or your experience, just doing a half xxx job in serving your vehicle and pushing you out the door. Never take your vehicle to get serviced at this location unless you want to be ghosted and have to wait a days worth of time to even hear about what’s going on or what’s going to happen next. Oh, and having to bring it back after having it serviced because there’s more issues than you had before and we’re not made aware of. More
I've purchased 2 Ram 1500's from this dealership and have had more than a decade's experience with their service department. Recently, I had an oil change and later discovered that the oil had been overfill had more than a decade's experience with their service department. Recently, I had an oil change and later discovered that the oil had been overfilled. I immediately contacted their Service Manager, Dave Jankovich. Though they were quite busy and admittedly a bit short-staffed that day and what's more I had no appointment that day, Dave was quick to assess the potential damage this condition could cause and immediately took the vehicle back in and performed a complete "redo" oil change along with expressing both his own personal regret and contrition for the matter. Consequently I found Dave to have been exceedingly professional and extraordinarily congenial throughout our dealings. Having met other Service Managers there throughout the years, Dave strikes me as a real "standout" professional and so I salute Dave and for that matter dealership stakeholders in selecting him to headman their service department! Will be driving 20 minutes rather than 5 to get service because they just don't care. Not my first bad experience there but kept going back and now I am done. Made an appointment, when I arrived they told because they just don't care. Not my first bad experience there but kept going back and now I am done. Made an appointment, when I arrived they told me the person should have told me my car would not even get looked at until Tuesday or Wednesday and it was a Friday. Asked if I could just come back then instead of leaving it now and said no. Not helpful, seemed bothered I was even there and had a concern with my car. When I called another dealer they were very helpful, would also be a couple days but said they will make sure I have a ride or rental and will not be without a car. More
Went there for engine problems and took them 1 week to fix. Next day the car wouldn’t start and I had to bring it back. Took them another week to fix something they miss placed. Three days later my car wo fix. Next day the car wouldn’t start and I had to bring it back. Took them another week to fix something they miss placed. Three days later my car wouldn’t start again. I had to get it towed again ( all at my expenses) and the car set in their parking lot for 2 WEEKS!!!! I called, left messages, contacted managers and NOBODY called back and when I reached them they had NO Clue on what was wrong with my car ( mind this was the 3rd time in a month that I had to bring it there). All I got was “ if you don’t like it, you can come and get your car and bring it somewhere else “, and I did!!!! I brought to another dealership who were more honest, prompt to help and didn’t lie!! Never again will bring my car here and you shouldn’t either! They will just scam you and mess with your car. More

Beware this is NOT the service department of Shuman Chrysler. As is the case in most instances of buyouts, change is proving to be POOR. This one is on me though as I gave the service department a sec Chrysler. As is the case in most instances of buyouts, change is proving to be POOR. This one is on me though as I gave the service department a second chance. My first experience was for my second free oil change I received when I purchased my vehicle but the service advisor, not sure if his name is Ryan or Andrew, was adamant that I had no such free oil change and was waiting for me to pay him. Thankfully, another advisor overheard all the confusion and advised the guy I was dealing with to look on another screen. Seems the advisor I was working with was inadequately trained. Problem solved but as I drove away, I checked my tire pressure and all the tires were low. I had paid for a tire rotation. You would think they would have checked the air pressure of all tires. I didn't go back because of the inconvenience and this was something I could take care of myself, The second visit was again for an oil change and tire rotation. Now if you're familiar with the pricing there, you know they offer oil change packages at a great savings. I've bought the 4 oil change package, ($200), several times since it was offered to me as it is a tremendous deal. When I called to schedule this last oil change, I specifically asked if the deal was still available and the operator making the appointment assured me it was but also transferred me to the service department to confirm this. The service advisor I spoke to did also confirm the package was available. When I arrived at the dealership for my appointment, I told the same service advisor I dealt with at my first visit, (Ryan or Andrew-still unclear...), I wanted that package and he said no problem. We would take care of it when the oil change was completed, BAIT & SWITCH! Upon completion, vehicle washed up and ready, I was informed that the system was not offering that package any longer. Maybe he could see if sales knew anything about it but he doubted it. Then once again, another service advisor overheard and mentioned something about the system being down but he wasn't sure about pricing. So the only option I had was to pay the full amount for an oil change and tire rotation. He did say I could come back and try again next time. Are you kidding me? This level of service a third time? No thank you. But wait, there's more. I've been taking my vehicles there for oil changes and tire rotations and the first thing I do when it's time for the new vehicle's first oil change, is to change out the oil from conventional to full synthetic. After the first time this is performed I've never had to give any other instructions or requests other than schedule an oil change. They have always looked up my vehicle history and taken care of what is needed. This time THERE WAS NO SUCH INQUIRY PERFORMED. When I got home and reviewed the service invoice further, my vehicle was switched back to conventional oil from full synthetic. Who would do that? What mechanic would allow that? Don't they have a system of checks and balances so this kind of error can be avoided? When I went back to discuss this with the service advisor I dealt with, the only option given was to come back the next day and they would change it back to full synthetic, at no cost to me. Gee, what a generous offer. Now I have to spend another hour of my time for them to correct their mistake and I'm saving a couple dollars for the better oil. Hope you give this experience some thought as you schedule service for your vehicle here. There was never any second guessing the level of service from Shuman Chrysler. But again, this is NOT Shuman. After the oil correction is performed, I will not be returning to this service department and I live a mile away! Can't put a price on peace of mind for a job well done. More
Been a loyal customer for over 30 years! Won't be doing business with LaFontaine Chrysler we are done , worst service department ever. Made an appointment for an oil change and to check the, cooling fan in business with LaFontaine Chrysler we are done , worst service department ever. Made an appointment for an oil change and to check the, cooling fan in seat makes a noise, passenger mirror clicks back and forth when opening and third time back for engine light coming on ( every time you tell us it the gas cap sensor.) Nine days later you tell us it won't be looked at for another week or so, why make an appointment? Oh that's right your new service manager told us it is to keep your place inline to be looked at next, while I'm paying $$$$ for a rental car because you don't have any available . My truck is a 2019 Ram Limited with less than 30.000 miles. To bad "all" the old Shuman Chrysler employees left they knew how to run a service department and how to treat customer's. When I told the service manager this was crazy I would like the keys to my vehicle, he handed me the keys with a what ever, no apology or I'm sorry your not happy, LaFontaine Chrysler is not worth one star!! Body Finish Repair Chris Graham evaluated the marks on the passenger side of my 2020 Jeep Compass and referred me to Timmy Ferrin who worked tirelessly for 25-30 minutes Chris Graham evaluated the marks on the passenger side of my 2020 Jeep Compass and referred me to Timmy Ferrin who worked tirelessly for 25-30 minutes to rub them out. Tim applied more "elbow grease" than I thought was possible in a short period of time. Chris saw the before & after condition and was thoroughly impressed, as was I! Tim is professional, personable, and went above & beyond to restore my car to its' out of the showroom door, brand new vehicle look. I am truly grateful!!!
