Just a quick response here to clarify the inaccuracies in the dealerships response. A) we were not in fact escorted out by police - yes Jason Villa lost his cool and called police, but we waited outside to speak with the officer and try to sort out the situation. The officer told us we would not get anywhere with these people and we had a great conversation about what we could do to rectify the situation. Also, if a child was crying it *might* have been because Jason Villa was yelling at us and told a customer that we had a weapon. Also a complete lie. Unfortunately the immaturity and unprofessional attitude of Jason Villa right off the bat has cost his dealership thousands of dollars as we are having a new engine installed in our vehicle. We felt that he judged us based on the fact that we have an older car and was completely unwilling to help us through the stressful situation of returning to a dealership to find that the engine was destroyed while it was under their care.

These "facts" that the dealer is claiming are not actually facts. I have on an audio recording Davin Romero stating that the tech DID drive the vehicle without oil until it stalled, not that they "noticed" the oil pan was damaged. I also have on an audio recording Jason Villa stating that there is "most likely damage to the engine because it was run without oil." I think that's pretty conclusive. And yes, as a customer I will be upset with a dishonest dealership who causes further damage to a car because of negligence.

I understand the customer feels terrible about what has happened to his vehicle however, it is only right to make sure everyone understands what has truly happened during this experience at Larry H. Miller Volkswagen. I personally respond to every complaint online and make sure the customer is satisfied as an end result. We don’t feel that way this time around. Customer called our store two days prior to bringing it in and asked us if he could have a service loaner because he had lost his keys in Breckenridge - it was a Saturday night and we had no service loaners available. This vehicle was then towed to our dealership from Breckenridge. When the vehicle arrived and was brought into the garage to program the new keys, we then noticed the car was low on oil. Upon further investigation, we saw the oil pan was damaged. The tow company admitted damaging the oil pan and paid for the repairs. After the repair was final we called the customer to let him know his car was ready for pick up. The customer then caused a big issue and tried to tell us we needed to warranty the engine in case it failed. We weren’t willing to do this since we were only instructed (per the customer) to help with the key replacement and repair the oil pan. The customer then left the dealership. When the customer returned the following day for us to inspect vehicle for engine damage, we then agreed to pull the valve cover off to see what type of damage was done to the cylinder head. We did find the cylinder head has been previously removed due to the cylinder head bolts being stripped. The damage we did find could have been done over a good amount of time and it is suspected the customer knew what type of damage already existed to this car before it arrived here, which had nothing to do with the repair that was done based on the damage the tow company had done to the car. Then the customer became angry and started screaming on the showroom floor and made a little girl cry, and at that point the Lakewood Police had to escort him off the premises. It is unfortunate the customer’s perception is reality, but I did want to take the time to respond so the true reality of alternate motives was explained. – Jarred Black, General Manager, 303-205-6238

Before I begin, I have to admit that I can't stand car dealerships in general. It all stems from a horrible experience that I had years ago in a Ford store that left scars that still ache. I could go More

As the General Manager of Larry H Miller Volkswagen, I have reached out to Brenton in an effort to correct any of the issues with his vehicle. We had a technician damage his wheels and fail to find a fault in one of his TPS sensors. The Service Assistant failed to get me involved and it turned into a bad experience. We made mistakes and deserve a sub-par rating. I have since tried to correct the problem by replacing the wheels that we damaged and repair the tire pressure sensor failure. I haven't heard from Brenton yet so I hope he feels better about his experience.
