We are very sorry that you feel your experience with us was not a good one. It is our intention to give every customer an experience that is superior in every way. We are continuously striving to improve our processes and will use this instance as a way to do so as well. When we are dealing with someone on the phone they are important to us and we often take deposits over the phone to hold the car for them. We price our vehicles very aggressively and often price them well below market value. Because these are priced at such a deep discount it is our policy not to negotiate prices over the phone. Loss leader pricing allows our customers to get the best deal in the region. When we price vehicles so low we get many calls on them, often from people living many miles away. Usually the first person to come in and test drive it drives off the lot with it because they know they got a better deal from us than they could get from anywhere else in the area. Our current policy is that if there is not a deposit on the car that we do not mark it sold and it is available for other customers to look at and purchase. We feel it is unfair to the customers who make the trip to our dealership to tell them they can’t buy the car they made the trip for because someone else is interested in it even if they haven’t committed to purchase it. We will examine our policy to see if we need to change it and we will if it is adversely affecting our customers. We would still like the opportunity to earn your business and please feel free to call and ask to speak directly to a manager when you do so that we can ensure you are dealt with in the manner you should be. Again, we at Lawrence Kia wish to apologize for your experience and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to ensure that you get a car you want at a fair price.
