Dear Sir, I feel terrible that your parents are in this position. I talked with them a few times and was informed of several things. They had never noticed any oil leaking out of the car in the several days before it supposedly seized. They also said Jiffy Lube was the last place to work on the car. When they had their friend look at it he could not say why it was not working but did say there was not a drop of oil in the vehicle. He further stated there was no sign of it leaking. As far as the Carfax you are correct. At the time they bought the vehicle, the Carfax did not show an accident. They have the clean copy. Unfortunately the accident did not appear on the report until November 17th, well after the date of purchase. I wish we knew of the accident and also wished that Carfax information appeared instantly but it does not. As I stated above we feel terrible but please realize your parents bought a car with 100,000 miles on it. There is always the chance that something like this may happen. When they bought it they were aware of the 30 day warranty that came with the car and Lester Glenn did offer several times to have our mechanic look at the vehicle to determine what caused the seized motor and then make a decision from there. We were not willing to 100% guarantee a fix over the phone with out seeing the car. I hope you understand and we are willing to try to make this right if your parents are willing to understand we may not be responsible if it turns out Jiffy lube did not put oil in it or that regular wear is what caused the motor to go, etc. Sincerely, John Perillo Director of Variable Operations
