Very friendly and knowledgeable salesperson, but once we said we wanted to buy the new RX 450 HYBRID, it took over two hours to complete the transaction as follows: one hour to find inventory, and get a pri said we wanted to buy the new RX 450 HYBRID, it took over two hours to complete the transaction as follows: one hour to find inventory, and get a price. Unbelievably, the cost of vehicle was written on a piece of scrap paper, with their offer below it. We didn't see the car fact sheet until after we agreed to the price. We immediately agreed as they gave us the price we expected on the vehicle (this is the age of the internet after all), and bit more than we expected on the trade-in. But it still took another hour after that to fill out the paperwork. The salesperson, as nice as he was, was completely distracted by having to run all over the showroom for whatever paperwork he needed, took several smoking breaks, and then started to help another customer. A which point I told him he had ten minutes or we were going to leave. My prior car was from BMW, and before that I drove a Volvo. At BMW, they print out what is coming in and give you the price. It takes a few more minutes to fill out the paperwork, which the salesperson has in his possession. At Volvo, they print out the car sheet, and ask if you can agree to X% over their cost. Again, all the paperwork is on the salesperson's desk. No one wanders around the showroom. There is no need for the salesperson to ever leave your side. Lexus needs to figure out how to make this happen in their showroom. So to sum up: 1) they had the goods: the RX is an incredible vehicle, 2)they were fair on price: we paid what every one else is paying, and got a fair price on the trade-in, 3) the salesperson was very friendly and knowledgeable but completely disorganized. That two hours should have been 30 minutes. POST SALE UPDATE: Adam Skolnick, Sales Manager, saw this post and the dealership has tried to make amends. The car came in faster than expected (2 wks actual vs 3 wks expected) and the salesperson did a very nice and thorough job showing me the entire car. I drove off the lot SATISFIED, with the feeling they they took my complaint about the sales experience quite seriously. More

I've been looking at Lexus for a while. I'm more of an indecisive customer. When I first went into Lexus of Watertown, it was pretty obvious I was just 'kicking the tires.' A little surprised to read some of the subpar reviews about this dealer. Can't dismiss other experiences, ours was actually pretty good. This was our first luxury vehicle. Not sure we could stomach the extra $$$ for a Lexus, but we went to check it out anyways. We did all our research online, knew the Edmunds invoice price, TMV, incentives, etc. It would be a stretch, but we wanted to see how close to our target price we could get...and based on our phone conversations with other dealers and what we've read on different forums, our number was very low. Ed and Tom sold us the car. Ed was patient with us as we considered three different vehicles over three separate visits. No pressure; no annoying phone calls in between visits. Tom worked with us during the negotiations. We were pretty upfront about our budget and asked how close he could come. Did the whole back and forth, "I can't be believe I'm doing this" bit to try to push our number up. You can't fault the guy. It's his job to make as much as he can. We didn't have to buy a car and weren't wedded to the Lexus so were prepared to go home to consider our options further. But in the end, Tom and Ed gave us phenomenal value on our old Camry (1997) and brought the price down to the figure we needed. Ed closed the deal and delivered the vehicle with panache, even returning our old plates for us. Overall, this was a great sales experience. The salesmanship was expected, but with Tom and Ed, we did not experience the lies and dishonesty others did. Did not rate "Customer Service" and "Quality of Work." While Tom and Ed's "service" was excellent, we reserve these categories for a future review of the Service department. More

An absolutely disgusting experience with this dealership. It has been nearly 8 years since I bought a car but I tried to keep an open mind going into my purchase. I approached them via the internet. To make a long story short, the internet sales person, Emma, asked me to come in for a second time to discuss pricing with Kip, the sales person. Emma had quoted me pricing over the phone that was very much in line with my price range. We actually spoke about a specific vehicle. When I came back in that second time, I was introduce to Kip. When I mentioned that Emma told me that he would be "able to work with me", he said, "I don't know what Emma was talking about. I'll sell you the car for this ($5,000 more than Emma had quoted over the phone). Ofcourse, he couldn't look me in the eye as he perused other car listings, eventually presenting me with a super high mileage car "within my price range." He did find it in his power to look me in the eye and say, "what makes you think you can get this car for what YOU say Emma quoted? I don't care what the economy is like." I just walked out. In the end, Emma did her job: get me back in there at all costs. Kip, unfortunately, couldn't close me. Stay away from these guys. Even the lot (despite the Lexus name) feels like a shady used car dealership. More
