Hi Matt, I don’t have time to wait on hold or get transferred around. I took my vehicle in for maintenance and was advised that both of my rear calipers were seized (obvious lie), and that it was “unsafe to drive”, despite exhibiting no symptoms. After I left, I took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who spent an hour examining the brake assembly and (unsurprisingly) found no issues with the calipers whatsoever. This kind of discrepancy cannot be attributed to a mere difference in judgment. Usually with these issues there is an underlying problem with unrealistic quotas or pressure on staff to meet certain profit targets. I understand this Lexus dealership is under new ownership – likely levying pressure to deliver returns – but surely these goals can be achieved without dishonesty. For what it is worth, I’ve been to Nissan, Mopar and Ford dealerships for services (different vehicles) in the past, and never experienced anything like this. Honestly expected better. Cordially, GY

Thank you for the reply. I would still like to see what service created that would have lent the credibility to the calipers being seized. The only thing I have left to look at would be the inspection form. In order for me to get that, I would ask that you send me your phone number or VIN so I can locate your file. I will not be bothering you with calls, texts, or emails. I just need to see what was presented to you so I can find out how to not have this same outcome in the future. I appreciate your help. I can provide the following: customer # is 381169. The invoice # was 1103575. If you look at the inspection form, the seized caliper claim makes no sense. You would expect to see some type of comment with outlining the evidence noted, observed conditions, etc. And when calipers are seized, the driving experience would be degraded, with symptoms almost impossible to not notice. I had no symptoms, no evidence of the calipers being bad was documented and I got a second opinion from a different mechanic (who would have no incentive to lie) that found that there were no issues. These service practices are clearly broken.
