Hi Ivan, It’s Kary Loefler from Longo Lexus. As you’re aware during our many conversations how disappointed Longo Lexus is that we were not able to come to some sort of amicable resolution. However, I wanted to address and clarify the issues you’ve raised on your non-certified vs. a Certified Pre-Owned. A Lexus CPO has strict guidelines that every dealership must follow to determine if the vehicle meets the Certified Pre-Owned qualifications. If the vehicle does not meet or exceed all Lexus standards, the technician must exclude it from the program. If a model is older than six years or driven for more than 70,000 miles, it is immediately rejected with no exceptions. If your vehicle was a Lexus Certified vehicle we would have replaced the brakes in question not because of the noise but because of the remaining pad life. The main focus on non-certified vehicles is to first make sure it is a safe vehicle. With this age and/or mileage vehicle, it will never be as good as new unless we spend a lot of money which would result in a very highly priced vehicle. We presented an offer to take you out of the vehicle and cancel the contract. Our offer was declined due to additional accessories you added to your vehicle (tint & Sirius). We respected your decision. The additional items that you and our sales manager agreed to have completed after the purchase were, replacing engine clips and resurfacing the rotors on the front brake pads. We prearranged a dealership in San Diego to handle the repairs so it was convenient for you and your location. A reimbursement check for the sum of $361.83 was sent to you for the cost of repairs.
