We just purchased our second Lexus from Longo in El Monte. On both occasions, we worked with George Kantanto who is one of the internet managers. Our first purchase was in 2008 when we bought a new 2009 RX 350 for my wife. Prior to contacting George at Longo, I priced the car with Cars Direct, AAA and Costco. George was able to beat their best price by several hundred dollars on top of giving us great service by answering all our questions in a timely manner and treating us with respect as customers. There were no sales games or gimmicks played by him or the dealership. George also took his time explaining all the features and helped us set up the Bluetooth and Navigation system even though we had to complete the purchase on a weeknight after work and we were there well past 9PM and almost everyone else had already left for the night. This past weekend we purchased a new 2014 GS350 for my use. This time I used Truecar as a pricing guide and I received two very tempting offers from other area dealerships, but I knew that we would eventually end up dealing with George based on our past experience. Once again when I contacted George, he beat the other offers by $1300 without any hesitation, plus Longo had several Liquid Platinum/black GS's in our price range in stock. While speaking with George he told me that the Lexus Financial loan rate was 3.5% for 5 years and he did not know when the next offer of 1.9% was going to be. When I told him that my credit union was offering 2.45% and that my wife mat qualify for a 1.9 % rate from her credit union if she opened a direct deposit checking account . George asked that I wait so he could speak to someone in finance. A day later, I received a call from Elise in finance telling me that Lexus Financial offered us 1.95%. We took that offer since it saved us the hassle of opening another checking account. It was another great buying experience from Longo Lexus and specifically George Kantanto whom I highly recommend if you're in the market for a new Lexus vehicle. More
Recommendation for Longo Lexus (a Penske company) in El Monte, CA: Before beginning my high recommendation of Longo Lexus, I will first say that what led me to them was a very bad experience with the Tu Monte, CA: Before beginning my high recommendation of Longo Lexus, I will first say that what led me to them was a very bad experience with the Tustin Lexus dealership. Tustin Lexus only wanted to give me $9,000-$9,500 trade-in allowance for a 2004 SUV 330X while CarMax gave me a trade-in quote of $12,250. It was Tustin Lexus’ job to meet that amount. They did not because of the policy/decision of the owners (and brothers) AJ and Mike D’Amato. Next, I decided to check out the Westminster Lexus dealership, but they proved to be so disorganized. I dealt first with Roy Garcia, Sales Manager, and Doug Cook, Nat’l Sales Manager. I only reached Doug cook because I complained vehemently about the lack of efficiency demonstrated by Tracee, the assistant to Mr. Garcia. Tracee had promised to hand me all the information on the IS 350 Sports on a computerized form showing all extras and the sales tax. When I arrived at Westminster Lexus in September 2013, Tracee simply handed me a hand-written slip with only a total figure shown in ball point. I reminded her about her promise and had to wait ONE hour until she did not waste anymore of my precious time. Then I found out that they cannot sell 25 cars on a Saturday when they had only planned for selling ten. What kind of salesmen leadership is this? It’s very poor, lousy and inefficient, to say the least. Now, back to the VERY BEST SERVICE at Longo Lexus in El Monte, CA: First, I asked to see Craig Wolfson, the Sales Manager, for a lot of desired info. He then introduced me to one of his top salesmen, Robert Langley. They both provided me constant info about the arrival of the IS 350 Sports, with 306hp engine, in the beginning of October 2013. This car drives beautifully and economically. My entire family is in awe about it, with its white exterior and red/black interior. Another “plus” for Longo Lexus is Celia who works at the Appointment Desk. She is VERY pleasant and efficient. Additionally, Longo offers free maintenance service for the 1,000 and 5,000 mile marks. After that, they will visit our home (mobile service) for minor services such as oil changes and tire rotation. Every 15,000 miles they offer service via flatbed truck, equipped to do required maintenance. Both the mobile and flatbed service are done by appointment through Longo. All in all, Longo Lexus is an EXCELLENT dealership and they deserve my highest recommendation. They are located at 2530 N Peck Ave in El Monte, CA 91751-3524. During Dodger season 2013, to the amusement of my husband, son and daughter- in–law; there was a black Lexus IS250 Sport car on display. It was getting close to game time- but I insisted on checking it out; of course that meant, climbing in, closing the door, playing with the center console gadgets, turning up the music and dreaming it was mine… I rolled down the window and told my family “this would be my next car” they all snickered and we went to find our stadium seats, not nearly as comfortable as the bucket seat in the “dream car”. Fast forward several months and it was time to shop for a new car. After window shopping and test-driving everything under the sun; I just couldn’t commit; nothing felt quite right and nothing compared to the IS250 at Dodger Stadium. On a Sunday afternoon my husband and I decided we would take a look at my dream car- It is said some dreams do come true. In 2013 the Dodgers won the National League West Division Title and I won (ok purchased) the Lexus IS205. With the help of Chris McCarty and Francisco Margay purchasing my first Lexus was a fabulous experience. Francisco knew his product well; he answered our questions clearly and made us feel as if we were the only people that mattered on that Sunday afternoon in November. Francisco spent a significant amount of time making sure both my husband and I knew and understood the cars features inside and out and the importance to the Longo Lexus commitment to service. We are so happy that we had the opportunity to have Sabino Cuevas as our salesperson. He has honestly been fantastic! I meant to write this review on 6/13 when we purchased my vehicle but an unfortunat Sabino Cuevas as our salesperson. He has honestly been fantastic! I meant to write this review on 6/13 when we purchased my vehicle but an unfortunate event happened to a friend's baby. So I'm finding the time now to write a review to make sure that Sabino is recognized! We are a young couple, heavily tattooed with 2 young children and never once did he judge us-most would've looked at us and turned the other way because of our appearance (which is expected). He was so helpful over the phone & even more amazing in person. He made sure everything went as smoothly as possible, got us in the car that I wanted (this was part of my Mother's Day present) AND he was GREAT with the kids. I will definitely pass his business card to family & friends! If I could give him 10 stars I would. I absolutely LOVE my car and I want to thank him for providing such excellent customer service right from the start (which is rare these days)! He is definitely a great asset to the Penske company. It was a pleasure to buy a new GS 350 from Edison and Longo, and I will not hesitate to buy a Lexus from Edison and Longo again. More
I was not immediately greeted but someone did eventually talk to me. I had to haggle for a good hour before they would give me a decent price. My salesperson knew I was not rich and I felt like he really did his best to make my payments as low as possible.Looking back on it, I did not get a great deal but I don't feel like I got ripped off that badly. In the end, the car buying process took away 5 hours of my life but I drove away with my dream car. I love my new IS250!!! It is everything I always dreamed it would be. There were a few things that soured the experience. The finance guy talked me into buying the extended warranty which added a whopping $2000 to the price of the car. *sigh* At least if I get an electrical problem within the next 5 years, it will be covered and I hope Lexus is honest about their warranties. They also ran this routine where they told me my trade-in car was only worth X amount but they knew a friend who may be interested in taking it off my hands for more. I felt they were insulting my intelligence. Just be honest with me! Tell me that my car isn't worth anything to you and we will just leave it at that. In the end, I ended up giving them my old car for well below the kelley bluebook trade-in value. I just wanted to get out of there and stop having to listen to them BS me. More
