20 Reviews of Lubbers Cars - Service Center
I want to start by saying that I do not normally leave reviews or post much of anything online, but I feel others need to know or be aware of this. I have used Lubbers service center (both Chevy and Ford) reviews or post much of anything online, but I feel others need to know or be aware of this. I have used Lubbers service center (both Chevy and Ford) for the last 5-6 years due to being referred to them by a trusted friend. For the most part all of my visits are great until recently, I feel as if something has changed for the worst. The last few visits to the Chevy service center have not been the same. I used to be taken care of each visit by Trey I believe his name was. Taller gentleman maybe mid 30's and I feel he went above and beyond to make sure my experience was great. All of my issues/concerns were always addressed, and everything was explained very well to me as far as what was done to my vehicle. I am not very mechanically savvy so each time a repair was done other than an oil change I feel he always went the extra mile to go over everything and even show me under the hood and around the vehicle what was done. A couple years ago I noticed that the gentleman I usually dealt with was no longer there, no big deal I wanted to keep coming to where my vehicle service history was. So, the first visit where I was greeted by the gentleman with the beard who is listed on this website as Darren was ok, I feel as if I was rushed even though I always call in to schedule an appointment. I was given service recommendations on my vehicle and when looking back at invoices I had already completed these maintenance items, so I feel as if he was trying to upsell me on things that were literally just completed on my vehicle. The next visit did require a suspension repair that I knew was needing done anyways, I scheduled appointment out further than I wanted because I did need a loaner vehicle. Usually when Trey would give me a loaner, he pulled the vehicle up, ensured it had fuel and was decently clean and this was not the case. Darren handed me the keys said it was up front, I had to transfer a few things, and the vehicle was parked a ways out, no big deal there but vehicle was somewhat dirty and only had a quarter tank. Things happen and they did look busy so I didn't want to be a bother. Where I began to get frustrated is after approving the work and coming to get my vehicle I asked a couple questions (I am ignorant on vehicles by the way) and I feel as if Darren seemed almost frustrated and trying to rush me out of there. The total was also a little over what I was told on the phone. Fastforward a few months and brought another vehicle in for oil change and minor repairs and was dealing with Darren again. Everything seemed to go well this visit until I come and picked the vehicle up. I try to keep somewhat of a clean and neat vehicle. First of all, again when I tried to ask questions Darren seemed like it was a big inconvenience, and I could tell he was becoming frustrated so i just quit asking and hoped for the best. When I got in my vehicle there was grease stains on the floor and steering wheel area and the light rattle/clunk noise was still present and I had not even left the parking lot. At this point I was a little upset, so I parked for 10 minutes to cool down. When I went back into the service center apparently Darren had left for the evening (It was around 4pm) and thankfully a gentleman took my keys cleaned my vehicle and when looking around the vehicle found the plastic lining around the wheel well area was not re secured properly and hanging down, this was not loose when I brought the vehicle in mind you. I thought maybe I had just had a few strokes of off/bad visits and was planning on going back until I have heard from my brother and a few friends have had several similar experiences with the Chevy Service. Feels like Darren is rushing them out, after oil changes there was oil messes all over under the vehicle and would end up on garage floor, found that the repairs stated on receipts seemed to be rushed (bolts left loose, concerns not fully addressed etc.) More
Let me start by saying this: if you care about where your money goes, don’t support Lubbers. This place doesn’t just treat customers poorly — they treat their own employees like disposable trash. I had a money goes, don’t support Lubbers. This place doesn’t just treat customers poorly — they treat their own employees like disposable trash. I had a family member work here, and the stories they brought home were infuriating. Management operates like a high school clique — if you’re not part of their little inner circle, forget about being treated fairly. Hardworking employees get overworked, underpaid, and micromanaged to death, while lazy favorites skate by doing the bare minimum. They preach about “family values” and “teamwork” but behind closed doors? It’s toxic. Employees are expected to work long hours with zero appreciation, and if someone speaks up about the mistreatment, they’re either gaslit or pushed out. Turnover is insanely high, which tells you everything you need to know. Good people don’t stick around at Lubbers — they burn out or get fed up and leave. I don’t know what’s worse: how they lie to customers, or how they exploit the people trying to make a living there. Either way, I’ll never step foot on that lot again. Lubbers doesn’t deserve your business or your respect. More

Ended up having problems with the plug on the side which techs unplugged and plugged back in, I had to pay for that to be fixed out of pocket. Now the new transmission has between 5-6000 miles on it still acts up and is now puking trans fluid. Seems like the service center just wants to get vehicles in and out as quickly as possible and doesn’t care to take their time to do things correctly. More

They admitted the mechanic overlooked the problem with the sway or stabilizer bar and they got me in at my convenience and took care of the repair. I hate that I have to keep going back to get things done, but once they knew what happened they got right on it. I do appreciate that. More
Disappointed for the second time in eight months. On my last visit I was told the assembly that had the cruise control components needed replaced. I explained that it worked fine until my wiper motor went out. So although they assured me it needed replaced (200-300 dollars) I chose not to. I did have the wiper motor replaced and surprise- the cruise control began working as soon as I pulled off the lot. I don't know why they didn't know that would happen. I dropped the car off on Tuesday with a list of issues-oil change, 120000 mile check up, ABS and hill assist lights coming on randomly and a clunking noise in the rear when I turn. I had to wait for the part for the ABS sensor. So when service called to inform me I reiterated the suspension issue. I was assured they found nothing. I got a call back Friday letting me know I could pick up the vehicle. I no more than pulled out of their drive (my ride having already left) and the clunking was still there. I drove home in hopes I was making something out of nothing. Finally after doing a little more driving I was convinced I still had an issue and took a visual inspection myself. I could clearly see that something was not right on the right rear suspension. The connection for the stabilizer bar was about to break off. I am leaving town on Thursday and I can only imagine what would have happened had that broken off at 70 mph on the highway. I feel that the techs simply hook up the car to the computer and get their codes and never even look at what they are doing anymore. I have bought two vehicles from Lubbers and done all my services for the last 10 years there and you all know it is a drive to do so. I am very seriously thinking that I won't be back. More

Bought a brand new truck from Lubbers and when I needed some warranty work done, the very unfriendly service department told me it was normal and didn't need repaired. So I went to another Ford dealership some warranty work done, the very unfriendly service department told me it was normal and didn't need repaired. So I went to another Ford dealership and they, and Ford, said it needed repaired under warranty, so they ordered the part and scheduled the repair. More

He always comes to a solution to my schedule and works to make sure I receive a good value from my investment. He does a great job of communicating with me so I can make a well informed decision. We know not all of those calls are fun as car repairs are expensive and never truly in the budget. Thanks for making the call anyway. Anyway thanks Trent, job well done! Robert More

I will drive the 30 minutes to get out to Lubbers for service on my truck because I have always felt I get good honest service. The service advisor I use to work with retired, but have been working with service on my truck because I have always felt I get good honest service. The service advisor I use to work with retired, but have been working with Danny since then. Danny will take time to answer my questions and I never feel I am being pushed to get services done that are not needed. I have even taken my vehicle out to have them check something that I feel might need to be done, like new brakes; to be told they are still fine. More
