Alexander Belisle, We here at Lundgren Honda have been serving our Valued Customer like yourself, for over 50 years. I am truly sorry you decided to make the purchase of your F150 and you are not 100% happy. Sometimes we do make a purchase, and find out later that it does not fit our lifestyle as we would have hoped. I assure you Lundgren Honda or any member of the dealerships would have done anything that was not a benefit to our customers. You requested a pickup truck for around 10,000 dollars. It is very hard to find a truck in this price range, and we did look at some others while you were here, that was too much money for your budget. So you drove the F150 and you did like the truck, we sat down and we both reviewed the carfax together. That car fax did show 1 accident in which we determined was minor and would not hurt the trucks performance in any way. I did see you in the dealership about a week later working with another associate who appraised the truck and made you an offer to buy it back. I was not involved in that transaction. So I never knew what the outcome only that it did not work out for you. I see now in the review, that you are trying to sell the truck on your own and now the car fax is showing 2 accidents as you say in your statement. I only can go by what was provided to us by carfax at the time. And cannot speak for the carfax people. I felt I did go above and beyond in helping you with your purchase. The financial department made a typo with the address on the paperwork, so you were not inconvenienced I took the paperwork to you and sat with you at your house to fix that problem. I also tried to explain to you that if we got new plates for the truck it would be fast and easier to register and sticker the vehicle making it more covenant for you. But you were adamant you wanted to transfer the plates.. I told you if we do that you would have to wait here, while we registered the truck so you would not be driving illegal. You said that would be fine. So we proceeded at your request. While waiting for your registration you asked me why it was taking so long, again I explained that we have to do it while you were here waiting, and unfortunately the insurance agent took a little longer than we would have liked. You seemed to be upset with me, who only was trying to give you the best advice to make it more convenient. I am truly sorry you feel like you had a bad experience here at our dealership. Ralph Bass Your response to “If you want a dealer you can trust go elsewhere” requires significant correction and clarification. Let me start at the very beginning by saying that I did not ask Ralph Bass if they had any trucks around $10,000.00, I informed him that Lundgren was getting a Ford 150 for $10,400.00. He was unaware of the truck and after I gave him the necessary identification numbers, he agreed that Lundgren had that truck, but it was not on the lot and someone would have to go pick it up - pick it up from where, I do not know. After a couple of hours, the truck came on the lot, he and I went for a ride, then sat down to do business. Never, I repeat, never was carfax mentioned, and absolutely never was a mention that that truck had been in an accident much less two accidents. If Ralph Bass had knowledge that the truck had been in one accident as he admits, then he certainly had knowledge that the truck had had two accidents and failure to inform me of that was pure, conscious deception. Ralph Bass admits to having knowledge of the trucks history and deliberately chose to keep that knowledge from me. That knowledge certainly would have terminated the deal.That is the worst and lowest form of deception and Ralph Bass writes, ”I felt I did go above and beyond in helping you with your purchase.” It is true that the truck, a Ford 150 with a four foot by eight foot bed, was simply too large and too high making getting in a getting out very difficult for my wife. After two weeks my mechanic suggested returning to Lundgren and asking to trade my truck back in and have them get me a smaller truck in my price range at the auction which they go to regularly. I went back to Lundgren. Ralph Bass was not in. I spoke to another salesperson , a young lady who was very pleasant. I explained what I wanted and she went out to look at my truck, the truck that I had bought just three weeks earlier for $11,000.00 dollars and had put fewer than one hundred and fifty miles on it. She came back in and said that Lundgren would only give me $4,300.00 as a trade in and she said she asked the manager who said Lundgren would not get a truck like I asked at the auction. I asked her how my truck, that they sold three weeks earlier for $11,000.00, could have depreciated $7,000.00 in three weeks, and she said Lundgren only gives wholesale for trade-ins. I am certain she asked no one about my dilemma and again used deception to just blow me off. Ralph Bass came during the end of this discussion and when I left I am certain they had a good laugh on this. If Ralph Bass was the only one to deceive me, I would say shame on him, but when his fellow associate does the same thing, then it seems to me that there is a culture of deception at Lundgren’s and anyone buying a new or used car from Lundgren’s should be aware that it is Lundgren’s policy to deceive. In Ralph Bass’s response, he explained that the reason I had to wait five hours to get my truck was that I wanted to keep my plates. Ralph Bass told me to have an $11,000.00 check presented to Lundgren’s by 12:00 noon. I was there promptly and the transaction was completed. He said I only had to wait to have my plates transferred. I waited and waited. One hour, two hours, at 3:00, I saw no one. I could not even find Ralph Bass. When I finally asked someone that I was waiting, I was told they were waiting for my insurance binder. I called my insurance agency and talked to my friend and agent who assured me that it had been sent. By 4:00, I finally saw Ralph Bass who said the insurance binder had not been sent. I called the agency again, spoke to my agent who said it had been sent before the first call to them. Ralph Bass then said the information was on Dustin Johnson, the business manager’s desk and he had been busy with other customers. Shortly after 5:00, I was given the keys to my truck and told that the delay was my fault. Once you pay for your vehicle and Lundgren has their money, you are just ignored and forgotten. In short, I was not told that the carfax report noted two accidents. Had I been told that, I would not have bought that truck. When I went to try a mitigate my error in purchasing this truck, I was met with an insulting trade in value loss of $7,000.00 in three weeks and one hundred and fifty miles on the vehicle. There was no attempt to try and find a solution to my error. Lundgren claims to serve its valued customers, but that too is deception.
