I came to Manhattan Beach Toyota in late May 2026 to buy a new Camry SE (white), targeting a ~$30,000 deal I’d been quoted elsewhere. I was initially told they would locate the car at that price. Over roughly a 4-hour negotiation, the price moved from $30,000 to $31,000 to $32,000, and in the end I was given no color choice. The biggest issue: I was never offered a test drive of the actual 2026 vehicle I purchased. I had only driven a different model year at another dealership. After four hours, worn down and believing the price was close to what was promised, I signed the same day. After driving the car, it didn’t match my expectations, and I realized I had bought a vehicle I was never allowed to test drive. Between the pricing that kept climbing, the hours-long wear-down, and no test drive offered, I felt misled and ended up trading the car shortly after at a significant loss. My advice to other buyers: get your out-the-door price in writing before investing hours, and never sign without test-driving the exact vehicle (year and trim) you’re buying. More
